I think Sideshow's looks like Mark, but something about it looks almost like Luke 5-10 years after ROTJ, he doesn't look as young as he should.

Finally, an comparison pic. Definitely keeping my hot toys order now. It's funny, I got the email and in a weird panic, I called sideshow and asked them about this and if I can switch it. I too thought hot toys just did a deluxe upgrade for 5 more bucks. Then the rep(thankfully) told me it was a sideshow piece and she could definitely switch it if I wanted since they're so close in price. After she told me it was sideshow I said I'd have to think about it and maybe call back. The comparison pics make this an easy "keep the hot toy" situation though. Maybe I'll buy the endor gear from the sideshow one parted out later.

In that time, you could have gone through high school, college, and gotten your Masters, and after that still had time to have a child of 4.

I got Luke for Christmas in 2006, my first year in college. After finishing my master's I've now been living with my gf for nearly 4 years. Only no child though.

Pre-ordered.

Yes, the overall quality is worse but with this character I actually like the outdated look of Sideshow's figure.
It's funny how that blastered right palm looks better than HT one.
Plus I love Sideshow's boots. They do the best 1/6 plastic boots.

Head is the only thing I don't like... I'll just sell both heads with poncho and get a custom one.

Maybe I'll buy the endor gear from the sideshow one parted out later.

I'll be waitin' a PM from you next year.

I don't care how many accessories Sideshow has, Hot Toys is still a better looking figure by far.

I think SS would have a much better time if they charged maybe 2/3 of what HT charges for figures. Given the quality of this piece I'd say it's be a fair price at about $160.

This definitely doesn't seem like friendly fire. The war has started. But really, who wants direct competition from Sideshow. They need to make stuff that Hot Toys won't touch--they should be putting out Walrus Man for sure after their history with cantina aliens and after their cameo in Rogue One.

A shot fired across the bow! Sideshow directly competing against Hot Toys! Maybe Hot Toys will throw in the speeder helmet and poncho on their ROTJ Luke now.

I'm so confused... decent value as you get the Poncho and helmet as well. But when you consider the extras that come with the HT and light up saber it still seems like a better price. Not to mention I mostly know with HT the final figure will be up to my expectations; with Sideshow it could be anywhere from a home-run to a total disaster.

Yup, I think Hot Toys showing the snowtrooper commander set something off in them. Now they want to fight.

Does this mean the Hot Toys Snowtrooper Commander is returning??????

It's time for HT to take out from the box their original Snowtrooper Commander. Please.

Hope this does not mean that this is cancelled... Hot Toys>Sideshow

I doubt that SS's figure MEANS that the HT Endor Luke is canceled, but I am sure it would help SS sales if it was. Like almost everyone else, I don't get it.

Maybe I'll buy the endor gear from the sideshow one parted out later.

I imagine many collectors will consider doing that too.

Agreed but the problem with 3rd Tier characters is that it can be tough selling them at $235+. I certainly wouldn't pay that for Walrus Man.

As far as Lucasfilm approving nearly identical figures, I'm guessing the lack of movement on TLJ items is hurting their expected bottom line...

It lists it as an alternate head sculpt with non-removable Commando Helmet. So all you need is a cheap body, black pants, shirt, and boots, and you can make two figures.

Yeah, no. SS just can't touch HT when it comes to human sculpts and paint apps. The lines in the tunic look weird too.

I'll definitely be sticking with HT but I do like some of the hand sculpts this has.
