I never watched the show, but it sounds like they're making stuff up as they go along. It probably caters to those chicks who are into yaoi... .

you could say the do make up some stuff. The rules on vampire blood drinking change from season to season. Yeah there are definitely some consistency errors about it

They probably do just make it up as they go along, but it's still a great show IMO.

True Blood isn't a show where the story matters to me at all. I just like it because it's so cleverly campy and sexy.
