Now I know the Sauron :ogat Statue by Weta is 24inches High and is said to be 1/6 Scale but if that were so then he would have too be at least 12 foot tall in the movie which seems too high even for Sauron. I think Sauron is more 1/4 or even a 1/5 Scale Statue which would make him about 8 foot or 10 foot but yea this is just something that has been itching at me for a while now and I would like some feedback from you guys

What are your guys thoughts on this?

Heres an image comparison

isnt isildur able to cut off saurons fingers while he is lying on his back and with a broken sword mind you. that is one hell of a reach.:lol

good point i never really considered that but I still think the scale is over exaggerated :google

Dont get me wrong I love the Statue I think its one of the best Weta Statues available the sheer size is menacing compared to "True 1/6 Scale Statues" I just think Sauron could have been advertised as a 1/4 Scale or 1/5 Scale Statue

isn't Sauron supposed to be 10 1/2 to 11 feet tall? If so then the scale is close. he's close to 21" tall from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head(not counting the spikes on his helmet or the base he is on) so:

assuming 12" fig = 6 ft

12" = 6ft
9" = 4.5 ft

6 ft + 4.5 ft = 10.5 ft which is about right.

I guess the question is how tall is Sauron supposed to be in the films.

It is 1:6 scale. Someone here (The Ringer?) posted pics of his Sauron with his LOTR figs and it was obvious the scale was correct.

My LOTR figures look pretty much in scale next to Sauron. It's a little deceptive because he's standing on the rock base.

I remember watching an Interview with Peter Jackson on the Return of the King EE in the Appendices and I believe they were thinking of Making Sauron 14 foot in the duel with Aragorn which was Planned however I may be wrong about Sauron being planned to be 14 foot
But I definitely recall PJ saying if they had used Aragorn and Sauron's Duel footage, that Sauron would have been much larger than he appeared in the Prequel Sequence in the Fellowship of the Ring

oh crap i just realized Darkness PF is coming tomorrow and he is going on the stand that Sauron is on in those pics(I made the stand for Darkness) and now I have nowhere to put Sauron....my glass cabinet has SW PF's filling it up. looks like someone is getting evicted from the glass cabinet....i need to make a trip to Atlanta to visit Ikea and get some detolfs.

any problems for anyone in putting Sauron in a Detolf?

Detolf has 4 levels seperated by 3 glass layers. To accomodate Mr Sauron, you got to remove 1 of the glass layer. My advice is to remove the last piece of glass and let Sauron stand at the bottom of your Detolf cabinet because he is really heavy!!

yeah that's what I was thinking but then it sucks to have him on the ground and not in view but it's better than worrying about him falling through the glass I suppose. i think i'll buy some thicker glass.
