Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

I did too, I believe it's real but I heard he was basically playing himself, but as President, but still actually Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie. I also read Bruce Willis is supposed to make a cameo in this.

I'm kinda let down that Dolph Lundgren appears to be a bad guy in this.

quote from a guys blog working on the film

entry dated 9th october

Wanted to give you a little update – I read the pages for the scene with Sly, Bruce and Arnold and while I can’t share the contents I can tell you it is 4 pages long and Arnold has dialogue in all but 2 scenes. It has not been shot yet – still waiting for the stars to align themselves!!! everyone’s busy. But it will be soon. As soon as cameras roll I will be tweeting!!

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

It's the first (and probably also the last) time that Sly and Arnie will be cast in the same movie!

Don't care how bad the critics think this is, that this is mindless action, I am watching this!!! :)

QFT !!!!

What is there not to love !!!! No one expects it to be epic in the normal sense of the word, but let me tell you .... this is epic !!!!!!!! in the best sense of the word !

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

yes this is one of my most looked foward to movies of the year, and believe me, i havent seen a movie in the theaters since summer of 2008 when i saw indiana jones, batman, and ironman (yes, saw hulk too and it sucked) so im looking foward to going back to the movies to see none other then Stallone and a bunch of other awsome badasses onscreen all ar once. i mean, stallone, willis, jet li, dolph lungran (cant believe it!) and an arnold cameo, and i mean you dont get much better then that. its like the 80's are returning! cant wait. and then of course after that its all rambo 5, looking foward to that too.

and wait, i thought bruce willis was one of the main characters in this movie, not a cameo...

Sly is really good at picking or influencing casting staff to pick not-so-famous yet hottie leading ladies on his films (i.e. Julia Nixon, Julie Benz). :naughty :naughty :naughty

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

Hmmm.. You're right, she was already hot back then, but not that famous (Buffy is a TV series), I guess because she's not into movies too much yet back then, and only reach a certain audience.

Hot nevertheless :naughty

Rambo was a Lionsgate release. Actually, expendables seems to be produced and released same as Rambo, Lionsgate and Millennium Films.

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

That's because Millennium Films is where Sly has his independent development deal. He co-produces the films with them (financing part of it with his own money) and then they shop to distributors. Just so happens RAMBO and EXPENDABLES were both picked up by Lionsgate after they were pretty much done.

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

I'm really pumped for this movie, I've known about it's development for so long, seems like it's taken forever to come out.

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

It'll be a fun one, at the very least. I'm just glad he fought off the studio's request to make it PG-13. While it won't be nearly as violent as RAMBO that would've been several steps back, especially since the whole point is to pay tongue-in-cheek homage to the big dumb action movies of the 80's, which were almost always Rated R.

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

Yeah, according to the interviews, Rambo walked the NC-17 line, but because most of the extreme violence was done to make a point and to not mute the horror of warfare, they got away with R. I haven't caught anything to suggest that Expendables has any strong political message woven into it, so I'm sure the violence is just relative to the fun of the film.

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

I don't think it's rated yet, trailer didn't have one, there's no official site yet to check.

That's what I was affraid of. They can't make an 80's style movie PG 13. They just can't. I will be horrified. :banghead

Re: Stallone`s new movie "The Expendables"

It hasn't been rated by the MPAA yet, but word has it that Stallone & Millennium have gotten Lionsgate to agree to an R, so that's what counts. I'd be shocked if Stallone then delivered a cut of the film to the MPAA that gets rated PG-13.
