Yeah, it is definitely not worth $140. I could justify $75-$100 for it. But $140 is just too high a price point. And you are correct, the headsculpt is definitely way to mannequin like. The skin tone is too light. I wonder if a decent repaint could help salvage this.

I don't paint but to me the problem is just a blobby, soft, toyish sculpt. As you say IMO this is like (for me) my "psycho crossed eyes" Gentle Giant Thorin bust. OK-ish for a shelf, but overpriced at retail for the amount of effort.

For those who have the figure, how durable is the sword? The blade looks super thin in the pictures

Not very durable at all. Suoer flexible but it will snap if overstressed and that could happen very easily.

Would a sword from the original Toy Biz line bee too small, or would it work?

"Star Ace brings Tolkien?s hero to life in the 1:8 scale Real Master Series in an all-new version as seen in the film The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
This 1/8th scale Aragorn 2.0 features a fully articulated body (approximately 22.5cm tall) and an authentic portrait of Viggo Mortensen with accurate facial expression and detailed skin texture. Each head sculpt is specially hand-painted and has rooted hair. It features an accurate costume from the film, including a cloak and armor, with a sword and scabbard.
The Deluxe version comes with a dynamic light-up base shaped like the One Ring.
Also the original Aragorn as Strider will be re-released with the rooted hair."

Not great, but better than their 1st effort. Hs has been improved, added rooted hair.
Star Ace announces a 2nd version again, they 've must be addicted to double dippin',
if I was a 1.0 version buyer I would be frustrated.

I have serious doubts that this turns out any better than the 1st (and nowhere near as good as the still flawed prototype) but I will probably pick up the king version anyways because I am a sucker for Tolkien. It would be absolute turds for them to not make an Anduril to go with the king version though.

I have no idea how it is approved with the wrong sword
Exactly! Which is why I will continue to buy everything you put out with pleasure. Attention to the details!

I don't understand the licensing. Asmus has 1/6th scale and Star Ace Has 1/8th scale. So someone could in theory come up with a 1/7th scale figure line? I think it is absurd to have the scales so close.

Yes, that is true.

Also category also involves, like Weta has 1/6 in statue

The sculpt is horrible, and then wrong sword is absolutely crazy. I don’t know how Star Ace stays in business with these terrible releases.

I really hope Asmus tackles this one in 1/6!

How can you have a Black Gate Aragorn with no Anduril? It?s as defining as his ROTK costume, if not more so since Anduril represents restoring the line of Elendil and making Gondor whole again. That?s disappointing.
