It's a dark day
I've just watched (scanned through actually) all 6 films in 1080p on a 1080p plasma and generally speaking, they look pretty average.
The HD shows the limitations of everything; the sets, make-up, CG, VFX.
The OT looked okay, but you can clearly see black lines around all the ships/SPFX/etc, furthermore Ackbar, Nein Numb and most creatures look like foam latex - there's nowhere to hide in this resolution
The PT look better and worse at the same time. Better when it's all CG, in fact some bits looks insane; pod race, geonosis battle, opening scene of ep3. But when there is humans and CG it looks terrible; the actors look like they've been dropped into a CG environment.
These were (I'm sure) pirates on a hard drive and I dare say the Blu-Ray's will address all this issues... I sure as hell hope so
