I think SS has way to many licenses, they need to concentrate on there top sellers, and if Mickey and Minnie out sell LOTR, then so be it

i still think they'll do merry and pippin just to make back some of that money from the development of the new body although they could also use that type of body for an shorty in indy and jawas so i guess they could scrap lotr and still make some omney back on it.

they've put out a good amount of dios for lotr and they have 3 pfs in the wings (aragorn, galadriel and orc) so i don't see them dropping lotr completely but yeah the lack of announcements for the 1/6 makes me worried that the fellowship will remain incomplete but when you can't sell out gandalf and frodo it might be a wise business decision as much as it stinks for those of us who love the 1/6 line.

This belongs in the LOTR forum, but I'll chime in here. If they had any inkling of an idea or feeling that the LOTR line might die off, they wouldn't have sunk the money into creating a smaller body.

I agree....seroiously, is WoW, Reservoir Dogs and Elvis selling more than LOTR? I don't think so, put more resources into LOTR please!!

LOTR will sell better in about a year or so when the Hobbit hype begins. Why release figures now and sell 1000 when you might be about to sell 2000 in about a year?

LOTR is done, WETA did a great job. And now everything I see is just an idea from WETA. The new dio has been done by Weta as a wall plaque. But the other problem is theres too much stuff. PFs, 12 inch figures, Dio's, LSB, then you got GG doing stuff. Alot LOTR fans are hippies and not collecting "geeks" like Star Wars and Star Trek fans. I'm glad to see no new LORT 12 inch or PF's announced. I think SS should cancel all the LOTR lines and concentrate on SW and Marvel stuff.

Seems like the cool thing to do would be to not gloat about it, but it does look like LOTR is on the ropes. I have high hopes that this will be a tortoise/hare situation, and over time, LOTR will become a cool collection too, but i had some hopes to see new 1:6 scale stuff at SDCC.
