I feel he's been mostly absent from S3 of The Mandalorian apart from the episode he has a writing credit for (which was probably just the Grogu flashback), cause it really feels like JF has went full BOBF with this Season 3. I think JF needs the leash back on. Say what you will but Filoni knows Star Wars, I don't think Favreau knows much about it apart from the movies etc.
Yeah I agree. I'm not a big Filoni fan, find his stuff to be a very mixed bag, but when he's good, he's really good.
Season 3 has a real BoBF feel to it and I think that series was missing Filoni too.
Favreau and Filoni make a good team, but it's really looking like Favreau doesn't know what he's doing without Filoni.

Why? He’s integral to her character. It’s likely flashbacks, visions, etc.
I loved Ahsoka in the Mandalorian but I've never been a fan of pre-OT Anakin. A brief flashback I'll manage but if they pull any more of that angsty pop-psycho bull crap Hayden's been giving us since the PT, I'm out

Yes I've seen similar. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
Those of us who found the episode lacking or consider it the most shark jumping episode of The Mandalorian seem to be in the minority.
Makes me question what even is Star Wars anymore? What is Star Wars fandom? I clearly don't belong in it anymore if this latest Mando is amazing and what the fandom loves and wants more of.
Apparently most of the fans love this stuff.

I hope the Ahsoka series has the quality you're after. I thought when watching the trailer that this is where Filoni put all his love and attention, rather than into Mando season 3.
I think fans of Filoni and his approach to the Force and Star Wars, his inclusion of all those Rebels characters etc will happy.
The only thing that's changed is young kids actually believe, yet again, that it's ok to voice their icky unconditional love for SW. It's not! Just because the grownups have been giving the Mandalorian some well deserved positive critique for a couple of years, doesn't mean one can suddenly go back to praising everything the Mouse committee feeds us. I say lets silence those kids again, and this time for good. ☝️🧐

First look at Thrawn (poor quality and mid speech)

It looks like they decided against any prosthetics on his forehead. Probably would have been too restrictive with respect to his facial expressions anyway, but those high arching creases gave the animated character an extra bit of menace.

I hope they officially release a photo because the leak is a bit awkward. My first thought was Bluelon Musk.

I’m certain he’ll look good in action. Hope we see something soon.

Interesting titbit, the two dark siders we see are Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati - named after Skoll and Hati from Norse Mythology. The wolves who chase the Sun and Moon, no coincidence given Filoni's love of wolves.

Any chance you wanna share a pic of that titbit?

I'm not sure Favreau has much talent at all beyond steering real talent. This makes me question what really happened on Iron Man.

The overall vibe I get is a disinterested adult dropping in to play Star Wars with the kids and promptly ruining it with his lack of basic knowledge.

To be fair he is always the first to admit he relies on Filoni for the knowledge/lore side of things.

I love Favreau purely for sticking to his guns back in the day and casting RDJ as Tony Stark.
Curating and steering talent. I think that's his thing. I don't think he's a good creative.

To be fair, I haven't paid close attention to the guy -- this is just based on what jumps out at me.

If the fandom loves this stuff, so be it. I just don't have that kind of unconditional love for anything with a Star Wars label on it. I can't switch off my critical brain like these people apparently can.
I'll just keep doing what I've been doing. Watch the stuff I'm interested in, ignore the stuff I'm not.
