Yup, I thought nothing could be worse than the Ewok movies, BOBF, ST, and The Holiday Special, but OBK was a level of low I thought wasn't humanly possible. I'm sure if you look up the word "abhorrent" in the dictionary there would be a poster for OWK next to it.
It boggles my mind that of all the Disney SW projects so far that OWK was the most disastrous. You had fan favorites like Ewan and Hayden (and Liam!) returning and the director of two of the best Mando episodes helming the whole thing. The disparity in potential between the finished result is the stuff of legend.

I've been rewatching Mando season 1 and 2. Bit of a mixed bag overall, with quite a few episodes I didn't care for. All in all though, a good show and one of their better efforts. Definitely feels like a nice adventure series. Can happily fit in with Andor as occupying the same galaxy, just from a different perspective.
I'm pleased we've got 2 good series now at least, Mando and Andor.
It's a shame that X-Wing movie from Patty Jenkins went nowhere.
I'd wanted a Star Wars movie focusing on X-Wings and starfighter combat ever since reading the X-Wing novels years ago.
Assuming it turned out decent, we could have had a fighter pilot, X-Wing movie to go with the swashbuckling adventuring Mando and gritty spy thrilling Andor.
Oh well.

The Mandalorian has something for everyone, it doesn't have a high stakes story, it's as you said a nice adventure series. We get to go to a bunch of different worlds and see a bunch of different creatures and characters. It's great for what it is.

Andor however is just one thing, and it does that one thing extremely well.

I totally get how it happened. Andor was a nobody character to a lot of people and Gilroy is very highly respected and I can see how they just left him alone. OWK is a prestige character to Lucasfilm and I can see how there was probably a lot of cooks, all with differing opinions and views on the vision of the character and the show and that’s when mess happens.

I really enjoyed Mando when it came out (S1 ep1-3 & 6-9 - and sporadic eps from season 2), but Gorgu going back with Mando straight away in BOBF, just made the first 2 season feel pointless.

I've got the Iron Studios 1/4, the SSC life-size Grogu and the Hot Toys original Mando 1/6, and when I look at them now I don't have the "love" for them as I did before BOBF, and my desire to rewatch Mando (I've got the fan edit that turns season one into a 3 hour movie), has also faded since BOBF :(

I get they had to bring the duo back together, as the show would struggle without Grogu, but now it just feels like a cash grab again, rather than a fun ride.

Couple all that with how much I've enjoyed Andor, (the SW show I didn't know I wanted and needed) and my tastebuds have definitely shifted to a different flavor.

I'm not certain what I would get from this show, however unlikely we'll get much of anything.

Maybe HT would make the easy "bad" K2. A trooper or two also. None of which I would get.

Truthfully, I loved the show, but I don't think I'd pick up anyone except:

1) Cassian -- depending on outfit -- to go in my RO display with Jyn.

2) Dedra Meero -- because she's evil -- but she absolutely has to come with that pale cream overcoat and her little black cap (to separate her from Krennic on this shelf).

3) Luthen Rael -- looking like an evil Jedi. If he only comes in his "shop" disguise, forget it.

4) Syril's Mom -- so she can look at me with disappointment and ask if I have any prospects.

That all said, I don't expect any of those except maybe Cassian.
