I will see what our Movies and TV Show Discussion arbiters of taste have to say, before I wade into "Andor." Send in the Shock Troops!! their response will tell me all I need to know

The poster has no aliens. The trailers barely have any aliens, and the dude they do have is some weird four armed creature that looks like all the other peachy colored aliens from the sequels. Seriously who is running their creature design department??

I can’t get my hopes up. This show could be awesome or another dumpster fire. I just hope we don’t get another baby sitting show. No kids, it’s lazy writing. Yeah, grogu and blah blah blah, I would have rather had a ruthless mandalorian making his way in the galaxy. So my hope for cassian is that he doesn’t get the kk treatment (see: han, Luke, R2, boba, kenobi) or a child sidekick and that we actually just get a good spy show about the rebels and imperials.

Randomly committing suicide for no good reason. Yep, crazy like a snake.

He'd been through a lot and aside from his fractured mental state, it was clear his health was also in steady decline.

I took that scene to mean he was facing death on his own terms knowing he'd only slow down Jyn if he went with her. Both because he was not moving very fast and hobbling around at that point, and because he'd fallen out with the Rebel Alliance so his presence would only detract from her mission anyway.

I hate it when serious things like Star Wars get inundated with kiddie things. I prefer to have serious threats like teddy bears with sticks.

Hated Saw the first time I watched RO, then with the animated shows and RO rewatches I began to appreciate his decline and now I love Whittakers gonzo performance.
He’s a pretty tragic character once you see his whole story (so far). He’s almost an entirely different person from the time you see him in The Clone Wars to Rogue One.

He’s a completely broken man with nothing to lose who doesn’t care what he has to do to achieve his goals. He’s on the side of the “good guys” but you can’t really root for him. He stopped caring about doing the right thing a long time ago and just wants to make the people that took everything from him pay.

By the time of RO he’s just completely broken both mentally and physically, can’t blame him for just giving up.

I just wish they’d stop calling these shows after individual characters, they really back themselves into a corner when doing that. I like the character very much, one of my favourites of the Disney era, but for your average Joe he’s not a big name. It’s obvious he won’t be the sole focus of the show, so calling it something more wide-reaching would allow focus on other characters for a few episodes at a time without people complaining about the absence of the titular character. The show would have more hype around it they’d called something simple and impactful like ‘Empire’ or ‘Rebellion’.
Yup. I'd be thrilled if Fett's name was NOT all over that show.

And since Mando basically took over that show....

I still stand by what I said when TBOBF was still ongoing. Characterization and plot aside (I'm not getting into that so don't @ me), they would've saved themselves a ton of headache by branding and framing the show as Tales of the Bounty Hunters instead.

Because it was not The Book of Boba Fett. It was The Book of Marketing Department Chose This Name.

You can always count on Star Wars fans to write the scripts.

What you're saying in this case isn't as much of a fan stretch as we frequently see, but personally I don't think it was executed well. To each their own.

I’d love a figure of Saw. But then again I’d love a figure of Baze lol. Chirrut is lonely.

I had a weird premonition that Jyn would be in this show but not sure how that would work/make sense. Seeing Saw made me think it could be possible but not in the story sense (as it wouldn’t) but in a we have a couple of surprises sense. Out of all the characters to reappear she is top of the list for me because despite being underwritten I really love her character and just want to see more stories with her (preferably live action).

I don't like wild speculation of crockpot theories as much as you. But I'm just expressing what I personally inferred from the character's arc through The Clone Wars, Jedi: Fallen Order, Rebels, and Rogue One. I even said "I took that scene" and not "this is how it is."

I don't think that's really different from any sort of interpretation or read of a fictional character, whether literature, film, etc.

It's absolutely fine if you don't like how it all played out in the film; I understand your perspective and to each their own like you said. I was just sharing my opinion with you; the subtle shade being thrown was not expected. You must really hate that scene. :lol

.... and those teddy bears turned me off to SW for upwards of twenty years. So yeah, I understand the kiddoes are watching - but I'm expecting stuff that will hold MY interest. This isnt Sesame Street.

For them to do that, they would actually have to show us some bounty hunters and seems like that is no longer allowed. Named ones, that is. I am low-level shocked they put BK in there. Where the ACTUAL F*** IS DENGAR, he should have been in BoBF and I will die on that hill.

I'm sure they can; they just didn't think of it that way. The show technically had five bounty hunters, present occupations not withstanding: Boba Fett, Din Djarin, Cad Bane, Fennec Shand, and Black Krrsantan.

It was a tale of bounty hunters, just not framed as it should've been. Or well at all.

I'm also a fan of bounty hunters and would like to see any of the classic ones return. Well, return properly; not like what they did to Dengar in TROS.

I'm on Day 4 of a COVID infection so feeling pretty shady

I actually do hate everything regarding Saw and Bor Gullet in an otherwise stellar movie.

Feel better!
But....I like Saw coz he's fractured. Not a villain, not someone who's gonna get redeemed, not a good guy. A wild card.
Plus Skarsgard who's always good....d@mmit I sound too happy about this series again. I'd better go watch more Reva - the fake parkour should be a good reality check. Just a few seconds will have me as depressed and hopeless as Obi. :blissysmi

That trailer was so well cut though. Loved the end with the Imperial alert siren creating all the tension, risk and urgency.

Reminded me so much of Rogue One.

With this, LOTR (Rings of Power) and GoT (House of the Dragon) all coming in the next weeks it's going to be a great Autumn/Fall.

All 3 should really be for "grown up" audiences as well.

We had a terrible version of 4-LOM in Kenobi. But yet again, we had not apparently ...

Chow says, “It’s actually Four Lom.” But then continues, “But that’s not actually 4-LOM though, it is actually a different droid named 1-JAC. Everyone thinks it’s 4-LOM.”

They are making stuff as they are going which leads nowhere.
