I feel like they're going to ratchet up the threat level now; really excited to see stormtroopers in action. They've been held back up to now and only mentioned in passing, made to sound quite nasty.

Tonally, Andor, Rogue One and the very beginning of ANH all match up pretty closely. It's only a little ways into ANH that the tone starts to grow considerably lighter despite the stakes.

Stormtroopers mowing down Rebel Fleet Troopers on the Tantive IV, Vader snapping Captain Antilles' neck, Imperials murdering Owen and Beru, massacre of the Jawas, Solo shooting Greedo in the face ... it all tracks. Even (especially) the mass genocide of Alderaan ... but then it all gets a bit goofy. We do lose a lot of heroic pilots in the final act, but their deaths are weightless by comparison, especially given all the cheers and laughter in the aftermath.

I am entertained!

Yeah that was tense. Those TIE pilots swinging into action looked awesome.

Figures the ex-stormtrooper bought it first.

As some of us predicted, the kid went down but I like how it was a random accident during their getaway, very realistic. What's interesting is that his manifesto may radicalize Andor, who up to now hasn't been out for anyone but himself.

I had said:

So Nemik went out, Skeen too but not the way I thought he would. Cinta survived but they've seen her face and she's still on the planet, so that's going to be a tough extraction.
Cassia also tells Nemik that he'll sleep after the mission. That he did.

Saw that one coming. 😬
Yes,
You know it's a great episode when even though I called Karis's death several days ago and chuckled at the nudge-nudge-wink-wink "sleep after the mission" foreshadowing comment, I still was completely enthralled thoughout. There were a few nicely executed surprises too, chief among them for me Vel's prolonged moment of hesitation/doubt before giving the go order. All of her bravado from the previous episodes briefly disappeared when the moment of truth was at hand, and I thought the actress sold it superbly.

Speaking of Han killing Greedo (or better yet, Tobias),

I think Cassian might be right up there with Han, Cobb Vanth and Cad Bane when it comes to being quick on the draw. And Cad is probably the only one who might have less qualms about killing lol...

Yeah, he's fast, accurate and lethal. Very good point.

I can't wait to be able to read all these spoilers...
This episode is genuinely amazing in every possible way. All of the build up is well worth the pay off... and we still have 6 episodes and another whole season. to go.
This episode really makes you feel like the Rebels are doing something dirty, with the way they humanise the enemy it makes them feel like the bad guys.

I don't know about that. With the exception of the commander's wife and child I thought they mostly came off as despicable a-holes who treated everyone else (especially the Aldhanis) with utter contempt. Well, the officers in particular were despicable. I suppose it could be argued that the grunts were just doing their jobs but even so, at no point did they come off as sympathetic characters in my view.

It's a little of both, IMO. They put a gun to a child's head and right now it's up in the air as to whether or not he was executed with all the other captives. Some of those Imperials were just working for the wrong regime. I know I know -- "just following orders" (!) -- but war and killing is a very dirty business, and Andor illlustrates this well so far.

OK, I forgot about the gun to the kid's head but I never really thought they'd pull the trigger. I also don't think Cinta would have executed the captives because they were witnesses. There must have been surveillance cameras in that facility, so it's reasonable to assume that they're on security footage. That will probably be how Dedra proves this isn't another isolated incident, as Cassian will be ID'd for the 2nd time.

This is a dumb complaint, but they really need to stop it with the British hires and their accent. Even the freaking Asian baddies have British accents. Its fine if a couple here and there but this is an American property and needs more American actors and accent.

Actually yeah -- it would track with the way this show is written re: consequences that there are security cameras, but that makes it even harder for Cinta to get off-planet. I still think there's a chance she went Full Vengeance on them but Vel would say no. ... if she killed a kid she'd be beyond redemption, right? Oh wait ...

Cassian and Skeen are Mexican and American. The accents aren't an issue.

Well he did say it was a dumb complaint, he wasn't wrong :lol.
So galaxy far for away that mainly has British accent ok
What you want them to do make up new accents? Why should it have American by default?
