Presumably they need to time it just right for a new arrival so they can steal the shuttle?

I imagine there are also cargo ships to transport all of the parts they're making. One shuttle for new recruits isn't going to cut it for the entire facility. But then if only Andor's crew makes it out and the Empire fries everyone else, that would probably be the final push he needs to join the Rebellion in earnest.

On that point, does anyone know what they are actually assembling? Looks like it could possibly be connectors for a large spherical structure...

My original guess was something mundane like the central pylon of a TIE fighter wing, but now I think probably not as it would require a lot more embellishment.

I don't think the show will actually ever address it - it's the prisoners' fate to never know what it is they're building.

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well, but I also agree they'll probably leave that to our imaginations.

I would have followed him and the Rogue crew into their own movie franchise.
In another universe "the rogue-cut", K2 downloaded his consciousness into the mainframe before being killed, then somehow got them all to safety and off world before the DS nuke.

I am not a Fandor of Andor.

Wooof. Me neither.

I checked out of the pilot episode and never looked back.

After several weeks of people bending over backwards to praise how "amaaazzzing" it is, I decided to just drop in to the current episode and see if it could hold my interest for a few minutes.

It could not.

It just looks like a slightly higher-budget BBC sci-fi show, but bleached of any humor or warmth. I can't imagine forcing myself to sit through this.

Clearly there's a fine line between the imbecilic levels of stupidity displayed in BOBF and Obi Wan, and the dull as watching paint dry snoozefest that is Andor, and we all know what the sweet spot in the middle is:

This ep Andor(Luna) and Kino Loy(Serkis) relationship really reminded me of one of my favorite films growing up. Papilion; with Andor as the McQueen (Henri Charrière aka Papillon) atitude, and Serkis as Hoffman (Louis Dega) character, and how they play off each-other to survive.
One (Kino) who accepts his fate, or rather works within it, to not stand out, and does everything to make his life as comfortable in it as possible. And the other (Andor) who will never be "comfortable", never quits trying to get away, escape, just can't ever switch that part of his brain off, no matter the cost.

On another level, through the POV of Dedra Meero (similar with Krenic in R1) although with nothing tragic about her, they are checking/taping into a dark fascination that curiously makes one want to see if/how she might succeed in her horrible task.

Absolutely love these characters and how they've been developed.

I'm enjoying this series so far. The Empire is starting to show it's true colors.
I think Syril's obsession with Andor is only going to grow stronger, like Captain Ahab and Moby ****, I think it'll eventually be his undoing.

Given we know Cassian's fate, it's pretty much a given unless they turn him into a rebel.

I'll go with....certain Rebels had tissue grown in some hidden gene farm, in case of injury. Cassian's sister wants her brother back so takes the daring step of re-generating him.

Look, a whole lot of Clones came from one guy, not seeing the problem here.

I'm enjoying seeing the first nutcase stalker in SW. What a weirdo! Another awesome thing about this show, it's the first time I feel like I see how BAD the Empire could be. Even blowing up an entire planet didn't come close to the bone like this.

I look at it more, in time, in terms of rewatchability, Andor=Mando. Down the road, sometimes I'll want one or the other. Like, do I think about an episode after it's over? Do I think about what my favorite episode is? DO I OPEN THE WALLET FOR A DOLLY???? C'mon HT, I need a Luthen with switchout hair$$$$.

Andor is amazing with all the intertwined layers and tension ratcheting up, and up. Hate when an episode ends.

The nitty gritty ground level exploraton of these characters and their organizations at this high level of quality is going to have a tremendous impact on A New Hope.

Lets look at SW in general and the OT what they have always meant to us.

Golly Gee they are swashbuckling fun for the whole family to enjoy like a friendly safe rollercoaster ride look at these cute creatures, funny droids, cool spaceships and THX theater sound yay!

Andor comes along and shows us real adults dealing with real world horrors being committed by other adults.

Andor thrusts our real life upheavals that humans have suffered at the hands of governments and institutions throughout history straight into a franchise known for fun family adventures!

Andor feels real and not just about cool bounty hunters and jedi.

Hate the empire means something again.

This show is so good, I won't be able to go back to silly Star Wars now. Little green baby frog creatures and goofy droid side kicks.

Let me give an example of how this show is changing our perception of Star Wars by bringing character stuff to the surface in a new light that we never imagined before because it was always disguised as family fun adventure time.

The great scene with the doctor who was so polite and found pleasure in describing why his method of torture was so unique when he says to Bix that the recording of the screams of alien children being killed caused extra harm to the human mind.

This wasn’t Jar Jar, Wato, Sebulba, Pod Racers, Ewoks or any other SW alien.

This was the screams of alien children being murdered being used as a painfully damaging torture technique.

This ain’t your grandfather’s SW.
