Like as roadkill when a speeder blasts over them?

I used to make Super-8 movies like that when I was just a little older than her. This is Disney.
I mean it's not like that nearly foot thick branch is in any way camouflaged or NOT taking up that character's entire field of vision prior to them deliberately running into it. I guess the Vespa chase really is the "good old days" at this point, lol.

Totally disagree.

Movies are a dead medium to most folks, if the first film does well it's always diminishing returns from that point.

Contrary to what you read here, Andor was just not popular enough with a mass audience to justify films.
There have been some very successful films even this year, cinema is not dead, folk just didn't care for many movies.

Andor's production costs are paid. They already have their streaming subscriber money. The cost to edit and release the show (and other shows) theatrically is minimal. The cost per minute of the shows is lower than most movies. Releasing them theatrically is basically extra free money. Even if each movie only makes 300 million at box office and half that pays for distribution etc, that is still 100-150 million profit per arc so 300-450 million per season of Andor extra revenue. Add to that tie in merch, additional streaming revenue for the movie cuts and eventually physical media sales of blurays and that number climbs.

Free money practically

my mistake, I thought you ment ONLY theater distribution .

Yup. Obi-Wan broke me more than anything SW before or since. Not saying BOBF or Crapolyte, etc are any better, but that one was the moment SW was truly dead to me. An embarrassment on so many levels.

Was that before or after Book of Bumble Fett? Can't remember. I don't think I watched all of it. There are more and more I've either abandoned or haven't seen at all.

Disney's attempt at Star Wars has been the biggest disappointment for me in the direction or stewardship of any franchise.

Arguably other ones had already beaten the mouse to the punch. To name just a few, the alien franchise had alien 3 and the others afterwards, JP had had JP3 and the shockers afterwards, Terminator had T3 and the junk after it, the FoX-men had X3 Last Stand and some real lows with occasional highs afterwards and Lord of the Rings had the hobbit. So I should have been suitably numb to it by now and I was at least a decade older but... somehow my disappointment returned.

Before you wonder, I'm also immune to the PT, I was the best age to experience it and the supporting media and loved every single frame of that Jar Jar Binks riddled trilogy. I lapped up the EU as 90s kid reading all the books and playing games etc so had a certain level of fondness for it. Whilst George had his detractors I always felt that SW was somehow safe from the fate of other franchises because he and his version of lucasfilm were at the helm.

Fast forward to the Disney purchase and I had my misgivings (not quite a bad feeling about this yet) mainly because the EU that I had spent so much time in as a kid was relegated to legends and the Maker, George, would no longer be involved. My friends were estatic because the mouse also had the MCU and that was going very well (but none, me included, really appreciated that Mickey purchased it as a hot property and didn't start the MCU). Disney promised a sequel trilogy with Luke Leia and Han and George's hand picked successor, Kathleen Kennedy, would be at the helm. It was an exciting time to be a fan.

The Force Awakens: the trailer was epic, seeing Han and Chewie in the falcon again, saying they were home was exactly how I felt. The movie itself was admittedly a bit hallow. The first 30 minutes was very intriguing but then it ground to a halt. The first disappointment came when you realised Han and Leia split up and Han became a loser. He lost the falcon and ended up being a bit of a bum running smuggling jobs again despite being a general, a hero of the Republic and one of the most famous people in the Galaxy. The Rathta scene that followed was awful. Mas Kanata then told us that all the mystery box reveals were a story for another day (a day that ultimately never materialised in cinematic form). Kylo had started off very interesting but was soon reduced to a petulent teenager, having hissy fits and smashing up his stuff, it was disappointing. Spoke was intriging even if the first order was a ducky looking rip off the empire. Daisy Riddly is not a good actress unfortunately and this became more apparent as the film wore on and sadly she is the weakest of the British petite brunette women who have been the main characters in the Disney SW movies. Star killer base was awful as was the new Republic's inclusion in this movie. Kylo's reveal as Adam Driver was not impactful and I thought immediately that he had been miscast looking nothing like Harrison or Carrie. Kylo killed Han and whilst that was not a shocker due to Ford's desire to kill Han off in ROTJ, it just torpedoed any chance of a reunion between the OT cast. Luke barely showed up and has always been my favourite OT character. Very little replay value.

Rogue One: this was something different and I loved it. Still do. No complaints. Perhaps TFA had just been a blip.

The Last Jedi: my excitement was off the charts, the poster art and movie trailers were incredible. But then the rot set in. I saw this on my own since my wife was pregnant and was not up for it. My best friend (who lives quite far away) had caught an earlier showing that day and text me to say it was awesome. The your mumma joke, canto bite, Finn losing all agency, leias space walk, Ackbar 😞, the slowest chase through space, that's not how hyperspace works holdo manoeuvre, sloppy choreography of the lobster guards fight, snoke being killed lamely before we learned anything about him, luke (my childhood hero) being completely character assassinated and then dying and wish upon a star jedi broom boy. Whilst I was watching the movie I felt revolted. I called my friend afterwards to see if he had trolled me or if I had just not got it but after that conversation I realised that he never understood star wars.

Solo: OK side quest but pointless. You can't replace Ford so why bother and I didn't need to see any of the little callbacks or reveals. It wasn't as good as the book trilogy by AC Crispin. That stupid robot being in the falcon tainted it somehow. As a film, its OK but as a piece of Star Wars it should have been jettisoned as space garbage before the jump was made to hyperspace.

Rise of Skywalker: nonsensical trash. Awful in almost every respect (save John Williams score). Driver turned in a good performance as Ben Solo and Ford returned for the best scene in the movie. No mention of Anakin was a huge glaring fail. Rey, so boring, so perfect, without any real temptation towards the darkside. Finn was super lame. Space horses running on a star destroyer. I all the Jedi and i am Ironman. Sickening. The most damaging response to the Last Jedi in terms of a peak behind the curtain.

Mando season 1: actually pretty good. I enjoyed it and didn't mind the filler (wished it had been about Boba Fett).

Manda season 2: holy smokes this was great and the luke reveal made my eyes malfunction. Boba was perfect. I felt like there were some people in lucas film who still cared and understood that the sequel trilogy was a huge mistake.

Book of Boba Fett: so bad. The only good was the entertainment reading through thread on this forum.

OObwan: as a PT fan this really hurt. The scenes with Ewan and Hayden wre good but too much focus young Leia and Reva spoiled my enjoyment. Bad. Poorly directed. Just felt like he person working on it didn't really know star wars.

Andor: yes yes yes this was great.

Mando 3: disappointment overall.

Agreed - Rogue One was clearly THE best Star Wars film of the last decades.

The fact Andor S2 connects straight into Rogue One has me feeling the most anticipation I have felt for Star Wars in a long time. However even that mild anticipation is ready and waiting to be squandered away with Disney's typical BS (despite the money spent).

With a bit of luck at least we'll get some of the missing Rogue One Hot Toys figures like Baze, Saw, Cassian, Two Tubes etc.

Still not sure why mods locked up the actual Rogue One and Andor figures thread - https://www.collectorfreaks.com/thr...-and-saw-gerrera.182365/page-90#post-11080997
Got to bring my post over from there?

Poor Bodhi never gets the shout out. I'd definitely get his figure, to complete the R1 Crew.

Poor Bodhi, ignored by fans and HT alike. :lol

The most significant thing about Gilroy's characters, is (by design) they are the least glamorous, least celebrated, meant to go completely unnoticed, and unremembered, no mythological armor, powers, weapons, or gadgets, no medals, reward, no kiss from a princess, or fanfare.
After Andor, nobody represents that more than Bodhi.

Essentially a random low level, Imperial cargo hauler, in an indistinct gray jump suit. (yet whose actions and choice set in motion likely one of the most significant events in the franchise).
So the irony of these characters becomes what is the most significant thing about them, is the main reason HT ignores them.

Does he "deserve" a figure, on his own not so much, but as part of the R1 crew display, I'd say he does. Yet most would likely ignore him.

I would actually love it if Bodhi appeared in Andor S2, as maybe another thread in Luther's inttricate web, and we see where he is compelled (maybe just a family man who one day realizes if he doesn't no one else will), to be the one to smuggle out Erso's message and the DS plans to Saw.

As Andor S2 comes to it's conclusion; on his way to the Ring of Kafrene, where he first hears about the "Imperial Cargo Pilot (defector), telling people they are making a weapon ..."a planet killer"
I hope we get glimpses establishing the other players in R1, particular Bodhi.
Possibly the most visually nondescript (least toy friendly) character; an Imperial cargo hauler in the most basic utilitarian gray jump suit. Yet he's perfect for Gilroy, a character who is barley noticed, yet whose simple choice to risk everything and do the right thing, ultimately sets in motion one of the most significant events in the franchise)

Would love to see who this guy was before he got on the Empires Most Wanted list, was he a family man, just trying to get by, etc, what he walked away from, etc.
He's the kind of otherwise unnoticed bit player, Gilroy has been keying in on.

Wouldn't have met Andor of course, yet possibly parallel stories running for an episode or two, where we possibly first see Bodhi moved towards the decision to be the one to smuggle Erso's message out and seek out Saw.
Cause now I wonder if Luthen recruited him as part of his elaborat web, how he came into contact with Erso, was it just happenstance? Or planed? etc?

Also Melshi has become a strong ongoing presence that connects to R1, I expect to see more of him in S2 as him and Andor are reunited. And will add him the list of non-decrepit players I want, that Hot Toys (or Hasbro?) will never make. :lol
