The hype is growing. The writers of Rogue One, the Bourne films and Nightcrawler and the first six directed by Aussie boy Ariel!!

Season 1 was the best Star Wars and one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Season 2 is adding Krennic, K2, maybe Tarkin and more

Well, I was kinda intrigued untill I hit the 57 second mark... W.......T......F........

Does it turn into a Bollywood scene like The Mavels?? Or a rave scene like in Matrix 2?? Please, no.

I guess par for the course. This is still Disney Star Wars with a track record of nearly everything they've done turning out to be a let down.....

It's justified to assume the worst now a days rather than give them the benefit of the doubt and have "Hope". We probably just saw a glimpse of all the best action scenes. And much will be a slog/snooze fest like season 1. But I hope not. I did enjoy season 1, but man it was super slow in that I doubt I'll ever revisit it. Maybe the reception of season 2 will give me a reason to splurge and pay for 1 month of D+, then cancel again for 2 years or so....

** And I agree with all that music choice was really bad....

Amazing looking trailer and fits perfectly with the visuals of Rogue One - but that music choice is horrendous and won't do a thing for attracting a new or wider audience.

The visuals have scale and grace, but the music just diminishes it. Truly awful...

Concur, little faith in the Disney story group, yet Gilroy's apparently kept them hands-off.
I have absolute faith in Gilroy's ability to tell good character driven story.
If anything I'm more concerned with the quick time jumps, the excellent methodical pacing of S1, will be rushed.

Music was an awkward attempt to attract those without the attention span for S1

Obviously agree the music is an odd choice but it is certainly to try to hook the general audience on it being high energy, fun and edgy. They want the crowds who loved Suicide Squad, Guardians of the Galaxy etc to tune in. The folk who cut the trailers are usually not the folk making the show so I don't doubt the tone of the show will be completely different from the trailer so do not fear.

As for the release schedule, they finally learned from their prior mistakes. They obviously read the feedback from everyone online (myself included) that it should have been released in batches of 3 episodes so folk could watch a complete arc. More satisfying viewing experience that way.


It is awesome to finally have a positive feeling for something Star Wars rather than looming dread.... I hope season 2 doesn't screw it up. Season 1 had legs, it will be beloved for decades while other shows disappear into irrelevance. I hope season 2 gets to stand with it.

Yes, it was a very surprising and odd choice BUT it immediately dawned on me after the first few guitar chords that they are 100% evoking a VIETNAM era type drama, just like 70s Lucas!

Listen to his first words.

WAR!

FIGHT!

WIN!

Vietnam!

It worked for me.

One more thing, that is hands-down the best missile to vehicle visual I have ever seen in any movie!

The sound of the rocket and the explosion of the truck was spectacular and immediately brought to the surface the WAR in Star WARS!

Gilroy you genius.

There is culture and everyday life shown in the series, juxtaposition between the brutal Imperial machine and the simple ... err ... 'humanity' of sentient beings in the galaxy. That scene looked like maybe a wedding or similar kind of celebration, didn't feel out of place to contrast joy against a backdrop of creeping totalitarian domination and subjugation. A reason to rebel.

Yeah I don't really get that complaint. It's Star Wars, a massive galaxy with countless different worlds, species and cultures. Why are people always shocked when we see those cultures .
