They called him.
Maybe, but also don't see the issue
Exactly.
Character, costume and set decorators likely got a million basic extra slots to fill, things and details to match, it didn't, they moved on.
Why is anyone talking about Stordan Tonc? :lol

Did you catch him in that key scene? No, neither did anyone.

Empire Mag article:
According to the experts a TIE Avenger.

Tie Avenger by the looks of it
Yeah, not sure where/when they were first referenced in canon (maybe a game)? Or shown as a set part of the Imperial fleet?
I'm guessing here they are establishing this as a pretty unique ship at this time, if the Rebels are trying to get hold of one, or sabotage its production.
Also that the figure is specifically named as a "Test Pilot" desguised to gain access, Infers, it's in the production/experimental phase.
Sienar is the developer and manufacturer of the starfighters since the old EU
The cojones it takes to break in there.:wink1: :lol

Though it's the first thing we learn about him

Wow, I forgot how good this was. Maybe it's time for a re-watch after all.

Did he get shot or blown up? I can't remember.
Don't matter, they all died.

I think he got blown up.
Off screen, but according to the SW canon Encyclopedia of insignificant details nobody asked about 59th revised edition: apparently he died retroactively thinking about the dreads he once had.
Though apparently not everyone "remembers" it that way, it was off screen and in his mind.
Shockingly sometimes these "Encyclopedias" are just made up filler. :wink1:

It might have been mentioned in the revised opening crawl?
