Anyone can see from a mile away the plot line involving the separation between Cassian and his step mother just by watching RO with Saw and his oxygen mask.
She belongs with Saw’s terrorist group while Cassian joins the regular rebellion.
This show will be just as much about Cassian’s conflict with Saw and his step mom as it will be about him fighting the Empire.
Or i’m wrong and it’s all about Rey’s parents lol

Peli Motto is just sheer cringe, she crossed the line with that jawa comment and now I cannot see anything else. The sheer mental images that conjured up, along with logistical wonderings is the last thing I expect to take away from any SW project. That was so wildly out of place and inappropriate I am surprised people were not complaining.
They could tone down the wackiness in season 3 and I would not complain. But no. We will be looking at $%&@ Babu Frik. FML

Yeah I could probably do with fewer wackier characters in Mando as well, but I don't think that stuff detracts too much, and the show is always able to shift gears easily and become absolutely badass again when needed (something that BOBF obviously had a much harder time with).
Sweet. Rogue One is the only SW-related thing I've enjoyed since the OT and it's precisely because it felt so different from everything else. Different score, different atmosphere, no title crawl...

I liked it except for the 120 minutes worth of boring parts.
The wider problem seems to be every show premiere (and even a few episodes past that sometimes) seems to be just set up for the characters.
Andor's larger story will likely be about his integration into the Rebellion and yet the last 5 minutes are really where that story begins.
I feel like the past few premieres I've watched I've sat through 1-3 episodes and it seems like by the end of the premiere the story is actually about to start.
Probably, a symptom of the tendency for shows like this to stretch their stories to the absolute limit to squeeze out a "season" worth of content.
I want writing that gives the characters and world room to breathe, but they need to lean a bit harder on hooking the audience.

Shrug. As long as Mandalorian stays reasonably far away from the Skywalkers, rehash and Tatooine, I'm happy. I remain intrigued by a character defined by a code having to struggle with betraying and/or coming to terms with that identity. I idly ponder in a way, a long time ago, Tarre Vizsla may have had to ask those same questions, maybe one end result being the creation of something like the Darksaber which - in the murky world of "what does it take to wield a lightsaber" - is a pretty unique weapon, in that the sword demands the user have certain capabilities to use it effectively.
That goes along with the themes of other mythological swords like Excalibur, where only the worthy may use the sword. E.g., Din D'jarin may be on a classical hero journey of being an ordinary man forged into a king. Or not, because in theory he could just wander off into the sunset with Grogu. I also like Din D'jarin's able to develop relationships with everyone from Tuskens to a lowly mechanic e.g. the working class. Even someone like Migs Mayfield who I am praying shows up again, that S2 episode was amazing. And Disney can get over themselves and bring Cara Dune back.
Meanwhile very happy with the Blade Runner-esqe Andor, can't wait for Saw to show up, he's a favorite of mine 'coz not sure all the lights are on upstairs.
