Feng recently completed this Han Solo head sculpt. Check it out :D

The hair and the face both look too frozen-moment like, as if wind were blowing his hair around and his facial expression was focused on the instant. I think sculpts in this sort of item work better when they're more neutral, unless a particular character spends 90% of their time with a particular expression to them. The quality of the sculpting is fabulous, but I think the choice of overall design is a bit off from being truly successful.

can't fault the quality and detail of the sculpting, top notch.

It's weird though... it seems to have all the elements of Ford's face, and yet it doesn't really (to me) look anything like him.

When i first clicked on this thread, in the first half second of seeing the picture I thought "oh my god someone's nailed it!!" ..... but then after a few second all of a sudden it just didn't look like him.

very strange....

great sculpting though.... it's got the elements.... it's almost there, not sure why not though.

Yeah, the first thought that popped into my head as well "Han Solo Unleashed."

The wind-blown hair and squinty Eastwood eyes. He's not Solo, he's the Correllian With No Name.

it's a bit idealized but I think it's really cool.

Yep Solo Unleashed was my first thought too :lol

In the first more action oriented pose it works, but just as a Solo not so much. Still a great effort and one to be proud of.

I think this headsculp has a really high "wow" factor first time you see it.

If you want to be 100% accurate the face in motion makes it look not as much Harrison Ford as you would expect, but if we had pics of Ford making this face from A New Hope I am sure it would make the sculpt look even better.

With that being said, I do think it looks great.

Feng would like to thank you guys for the constructive comments. Even though in the movie Han Solo may not look like that but this pissed off look is what he wanted for his Han Solo.

Hopefully we'll see his smile version soon :)

this is an absolute work of art... a stylized interpretation by an artist wiling to go beyond the typical toy doll! i love it! it is too bad that art and personal self expression isn't more celebrated rather than criticized.

As a represntation of Ford from the films, I do find it over the top as I said before, but as an artist's interpretation, it's definitely a quality piece of work.

Every single critique I read praised it and criticized it. It would be a very boring thread indeed if every one just said "Wow, looks nice"

That may be true, but if the artist interprets the character in a way that doesn't appeal to me then, well, it won't appeal to me. Just because an artist is talented, doesn't mean we all have to like what they create.

He almost looks sinister in the pics that were posted. Some aspects of the face are dead-on accurate, and the sculpting skill is very impressive, but the expression is so unlike Han Solo to make it kind of disappointing overall.

I agree with that... and im sure all the sculptors would appreciate constructive criticisms. It really helps them grow.
