I know, that's ridiculous. Fox has an awesome library of films to chose from. But "Behind Enemy Lines"? And how great can the 1976 "Omen" look in HD?... it was shot 'soft' to begin with.

This is not a solid commitment to Blu-Ray on Fox's part. Its an experiment.

Don't expect Star Wars on Blu-Ray (assuming it survives the format war) anytime soon at all. Fox doesn't decide when Star Wars is released on video, George Lucas does. And he waited seven YEARS to release the OT on standard DVD.

He won't release the films when there's only 10,000 or 50,000 early adopters. He'll wait until hardware sales number in the millions if past history is any indication, so that when they do finally get released, boom, a million+ sales.

Just imagine that day in the not-too-distant future when you can sit down and watch "Kiss of the Dragon" and "Windtalkers" and "Bulletproof Monk" and "The Transporter" in all of their high definition glory.
