Star Wars In Concert- Why do I feel slightly ripped off?

You can listen to the music gets beautifully played, LIVE. Disappointed...lol.

I'm going to the concert later and I know I won't be disappointed.

I'm glad you find it amusing. However, not all of us slurp down Lucasfilm's warmed over leftovers with a big smile on our faces.

I'm also glad you won't be disappointed, despite your sarcastic derision. That was the reason for my initial post, to alert anyone who may be attending this that a big part of the concert(the highly touted video presentations) have been around for a while. At least now you know that going in.

Have a good time. Don't get hit by a runaway cable car or anything.

You live in the valley, just go to the Hollywood Bowl during John Williams night and you get the same thing for $30

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but aren't the images themselves pulled off of the films? So they're not exactly "new" anyway. I can understand the frustration at seeing the same edit, but regardless its still the same visuals we've seen for 30 years. I would think watching skillful musicians playing it live would be enjoyable and thats what I'm anxious to see and hear next Sunday...

If I'm reading it right, I think he went to the show solely to watch Star Wars redited into a music video. One can do that on youtube.

Never saw the DVD. Star Wars in Concert is playing in Toronto on Nov 26. Cant wait!

I am not too worried about bad seats, since there really are none at the Air Canada Centre.

As I said in my initial post, and I quote, "It is worthwhile". I didn't title my post "Star Wars In Concert: Big Ripoff!! Don't Go!!!". I was attempting to convey disappointment in a certain aspect of the presentation, which turned out to be old news. To suggest that I expected to view footage I had never seen before is ludicrous. And, by the way, if you have never seen the videos on the now 4-1/2 year old A Musical Journey, you WILL see the footage presented in an interesting and different way. The problem is, I have seen it, and I would assume thousands of others have, as well. That is the point of contention. It in no way reflects upon the pleasure you will experience in hearing the chosen pieces played live by the orchestra.

Yes, of course that's it. How insightful.

I wanted to see/hear this but it was playing at the Palace where the Pistons play---to big of a stadium for a show like this

I'm watching this tomorrow with my friend. I spent about $30 for the nose-bleeder seats and to the edge of the stage. I have never seen any of the Star Wars films nor have I heard any of the DVDs. I don't know what to expect. I'm looking forward to the lunch more than the concert.

I need to get out more often. I totally loved it!! Feast for the eyes, really...I am disappointed at myself for forgetting the camera. There were some spectacular costumes under plexiglass that I would have loved to have taken photos of.

so are you going to actually watch star wars now?

Saw it Saturday. I thought it was great. The music was wonderful, the high def screen looked great and the presentation was quite fun. Anthony Daniels did a great job and was very entertaining. I recommend it. The props are cool, but very little seemed to be authentic.... Still, very very fun for the kids and damn cool for adult fans too. BTW, T-shirts ran around $35 bucks.... Quite a money grab if you ask me.
