I'll give him cred for executing a pretty complex plan and for showing the Jedi the door, but the guy's attitude just makes me hate him. When he's talking I just wish he'd shut up, and he just has a face that's oh-so-slappable. Not a big fan of his last apprentice either. Sucker wussed out. A real dark side master would have killed Sidious and then force choked the life outta Luke. This is why the Sith have a bad rep. Pansies.

Meanwhile, the real Sith, like Maul, who I'm pretty sure kills babies in his free time for fun, goes out hardcore by being chopped in half.

Well, my five year old has now discovered Star Wars... so I have one film from either the PT or OT or Clone Wars on my DVD player at least 3x a week. It's always Star Wars marathon at my house!

Best thing was waking up at 6:45 one morning to hear the sound of the Falcon being pursued by the Imps in Empire Strikes Back. Wanted to be angry with the boy, but I was just too damn proud of him! One geek raising another...


PS - just so no one thinks I'm a wacky parent who allows my kid to watch anything... he still hasn't seen all of EP III. The only time he can watch that is when I can edit the film for him. Don't need him seeing Anakin cutting down younglings or getting burned alive just yet...

I don't think I have sat down and watched any of them in over a year. I watched a lot of them at CIV marathon but since then just parts here and there when they are on TV.

I still don't get how bad ass Palpatine was able to just be picked up by injured Vader and thrown down that shaft. The dude only about 20 years before ^^^^ed up quite a few Jedi on his own, yet just let Vader pick him up and carry him around without doing anything.

I know. I just never really thought about this inconsistency before, until I read your thread gushing over how bad ass Palpatine is. I am surprised you don't hear more ^^^^^ing about that scene.

I always thought the idea was the Emperor's lightning started 'back-firing' on both him n Vader? :emperor or the Emperor was trying to direct the lightning back onto Vader which is a bit tricky when he's been picked up for behind... or something

I just always assumed that in his shock at Vader's betrayal he lost control of the sith lightening and it backfired on both himself and Vader...:emperor
