Look at that! Give me that instead of Sharknado. That's the kind of stupid I want.
That is Sharknado 3 :lol

Never saw it. I'm guessing that's the end. Welp, they really have done everything.
Time Travelling Sharknado?
Multiverse Sharknado?
Sharkicane?
Shark volcano?
President Shark: Election Year?
Nuclear Shark Bomb?
Sharkmen from the Moon?
Shark White and the Seven Dwarves?

Surely they can think of something.

I've had a little time off -- today I re-watched the battle of Hoth, as one does. Yet again I'm struck by what a bad fighter pilot Luke was in that scene.

Dak is trying to give him critical information in combat and all he gets back is a condescending "Steady Dak" ... when informed of a MALFUNCTION "Just hang on!" Luke probably got him killed with his undisciplined bush pilot bull****.

"Hobbie you still with me?" -- try using your eyes or instruments instead of barking at your wingman for no reason. :ROFLMAO:

And a few scenes later he's crashing his X-wing into a swamp.

On the other hand, I'll take Luke a flawed, makes mistakes, reckless, impulsive character (literally wears his greatest failure on his hand), who actually grows and evolves.
Over the out-the-gate infallible, good at every thing they touch, superfluously perfect "hero" of the next gen.

100%. Of course I'm conflating a goofy script with in-universe, anyway -- but I agree with you.

"George! You can type this sh*t, but you sure can’t say it! [...] "

I actually like it (Luke was not a Gary Stu) and it makes sense in universe. He was a farmboy, not a properly trained fighter pilot. The rebellion takes what they can get and they prob put a lot of trust in him given that he managed the shot that took out the death star.

Yea but who gave him that swing in the first place then.....

The original movie novelization spells it out a little more clearly. Red Leader (Garvin Dreis) is talking to Biggs and Luke; his internal monologue is along the lines of "These boys will shortly be frozen meat particles in space" as written in the narrative voice.

It was fully understood to be a suicide mission and they were just throwing anyone who could pilot a fighter at it; Luke was meant to be cannon fodder.

It would be EU/Legends stuff that portrayed Luke as having some crazy (Force assisted) competence on a simulator they had at the base -- I think.

As much as they seem to play fast and loose with rank in the OT Rebel Alliance, Luke was somehow Commander Skywalker by ESB? That's just Crazy George being crazy.

Dak, Wedge, Hobbie and all those other actual fighter pilots must've found working with Luke on an operational level incredibly annoying.

So when he was telling Luke "I have no approach vector, I'm not set!"

... let's say T-47s don't have vectored thrust, so he wasn't warning of engine malfunction, but saying he didn't have a heading which he was presumably expecting from some kind of tactical hub back at base directing the fighters.

Luke's ******* response is "Steady Dak!" followed by the decision to fly directly into the AT-AT group's cannon fire, instead of exploiting their limited firing arc via his squadron's superior speed and agility, resulting in immediate casualties. Luke, you stupid hick.

Upon being informed by his long-suffering copilot that there's a malfunction in fire control* and they're resorting to auxiliary/backup power, he peevishly responds "Hang on" and tells him to get ready to fire a piece of equipment that's likely now compromised by aforementioned malfunction, without adjustment of any kind. I guess the dumb bumpkin figured Dak should just use the Force.

Or die.

Daddy would be proud. :vader

*A fire-control system (FCS) is a number of components working together, usually a gun data computer, a director and radar, which is designed to assist a ranged weapon system to target, track, and hit a target. It performs the same task as a human gunner firing a weapon, but attempts to do so faster and more accurately.

So was it in Lucas' sale contract to never talk about or critique any of the material created by Disney?
And if so, does that have a non-disclosure type expiration date?
I would love to hear his actual opinion on what Disney has put out there. Or am I just missing, not seeing all the interviews/articles where he does talk about it (good or bad) ? Any links?

I know he publicly stated he had made some kind of peace with letting it all go. yet he's got to have an opinion on where they've steered the mythology and franchise.
Or is it a case of; if you can't say something nice, ...?

There's been decades of crap put out under Lucas's regime in the EU... how is Disney any different except they make a lot of live-action crap. But the history/mythology was ruined long ago... like 1978 Splinter of the Mind's Eye with Force Snakes... yeah, the crap goes that far back.

Yeah I'm not asking about others opinions about what he did, or how he already ruined SW, or people projecting what he must be thinking. Thread and history is already full of that :lol . But anywhere he actaully expressed his opinions about what Disney is doing.
The mythology itself as he once envisioned It vs where it has gone (good or bad).
I'm also curious if he's said anything about Andor specifically, and it's arguably more adult take?
Any links interviews, thanks!

He must respect it. Whether he believes its what Star Wars was meant to be, I don't know. I think Lucas always felt it was for kids mostly. Or the young at heart. With adventure and thrills and all that. Gilroy's Star Wars is more for the "kid who grew up"... it's more adult.
