I've never seen Goonies and plan to keep it that way lol. I will, however, give this a chance...

If you are ever tempted to watch The Goonies it's best to take precautions...

I still think this looks fun, y'all need to stop being grumpy.

I'm not expecting some masterfully written piece of art that makes me think. This just looks like a fun ride to binge out in an evening or two when bored.

And sometimes thats just fine.
Honestly, I just looked at the list of directors and they have some heavy hitters there.

You know, we can have both. They aren't mutually exclusive. A smart, well written script can make for an even better fun adventure.

I truly hope this show is good but nothing I have seen thus far tells me it will be. Hope to be proven wrong.

It isn't being grumpy, it is having standards. If you accept any old slop then slop you shall continue to receive. Disney can afford the best of the best so a product being only OK to terrible is inexcusable. We should always expect good to great, especially for entertainment that our kids will consume. Let's raise the bar.

You're twisting my words a bit there. It still has to be well written and directed enough for it to be a fun adventure.

If it's actually bad it wont be a fun ride.

I'm just not expecting Andor levels of depth.

the implication of your post was that folk were being grumpy because we were expecting it to be some masterfully written piece of art that makes one think, which came off as twisting what we were saying (strawman), so my response was sort of flipping it somewhat and throwing it back. wasn't trying to offend of anything (a lot gets lost in translation when dealing with text) was just making the point that we need good quality entertainment and all the complaints so far seem to be regarding the quality of the product, not the tone

Definitely some grumpy old man comments in this thread. Here's one right from the last page:
I don’t know who this cartoon is for because kids are certainly not watching Star Wars and adults certainly shouldn’t watch this because if you did well that would just be embarrassing lol
But if the grumpy comment doesn't apply to you then you need not be offended. Don't worry.

I know a lot of you guys say Carrie Fisher was your first crush, but honest to god, she never did anything for me. Not even in the metal bikini.

Now Andy, the red-head cheerleader from Goonies?? Oh my god. She awakened feelings in me I never knew existed.
