I watched the first two episodes and it was fun. I enjoyed all the ester eggs and the nostalgia brought me back to being a kid again. :D :rock
Yeah, I loved the American Graffiti Easter egg for George Lucas (The bully whom KB and Fern were going to race is Bonjj Phalfa. Definitely a callback to Bob Falfa, Harrison Ford's character in AG.).

I agree that it's been fun. And save for maybe Wim's dad no characters have been annoying yet.

Did anyone else have flashback's to the last Star Trek movie (the one with Idris Elba) when the pirates boarded the ship at the beginning of Episode 1? The way they speared the hull to breach it was similar to how his swarm ships did so when they boarded the Enterprise. Regardless, I thought it was a cool sequence, same with how they took out the ship's cannons.

The show is definitely better and less cringey than I was expecting from the trailers, and I'm liking the mystery surrounding their planet.

But ultimately the show still comes off a little too "Disney kid's movie" for my taste and I only have so much patience these days for following a bunch of bratty, bickering kids on a crazy adventure.

Plus it feels like the show is maybe straining a little TOO hard to be another Goonies, without it ever feeling half as natural as that story did.

Love The Goonies. Never understood the hate it got. It’s just an immensely fun kids adventure flick. I’m 53 btw lol.
I was a huge fan of the Goonies as a kid in the 80s like everyone else... but I have to admit it's the one 80s movie I just can't seem to get into anymore when I watch it today. Probably because I find the kids all supremely annoying now. Lol

The theme music is still absolutely kickass though.
