Lucas was always clear that these movies were made for kids which is why they featured what many would call annoying characters and slapstick elements etc. I haven't actually heard anything definitely stated about that for this new Disney venture. Will it be aimed at young kids or are we expecting a more mature movie (relatively)?

I think BB-8 will provide the comic relief, much like Threepio did in the OT and Jar Jar in TPM.

Was gonna say, hate on Jar Jar all you like, but like the Ewoks his purpose was to entertain kids, and on that count he was a raging success.

Disney stole lion king from the kimba cartoon

But they sue anything that resembles Disney

They have ALWAYS been in the dark side

They were scary though. They ate people, they were savage. They were tribal creatures.
Our heroes were at risk for a little bit with them

They took down the troopers.... Come on...

Jar jar was just handicapped.....

May be the problems started when the OT era kids grew up? You've gotten hooked on a story and you don't want to finish with the story but the story has continued and its no longer being marketed for you.

Disney has cartoon movies that many adults have enjoyed.

I don't think that's a problem

Disney actually threatened to sue me once, because I was selling actual celluloid theatrical trailers of Fantasia on Ebay. So yeah, they have a very active legal department.

I don't mind a company protecting their brand
But I hate how they almost never released anything original. They either steal concepts or buy them off

Most of their "original" films stink anyway, at least before John Lasseter was put in charge. Meet The Robinsons is an example that immediately comes to mind.

Disney also has made the darkest cartoon movies I've ever seen. The villian deaths, the parents dying, the final act with the red sky. Disney knew how to entertain both adult and child alike.

Well, it's a big galaxy that takes all types. Not every creature has to be fearsome or even competent.

Yes, the Ewoks were savages but it was hard to take them seriously at face value. Which I guess was the point.

Man i can't wait. I hope that's it's even possible to surpass some of the OT. (SOME FANS WILL NEVER HAVE IT) But i am kinda OT'd out.(I can watch them just by closing my eyes) They will always have a special place for me but man am i ready for something new AND good.

I have a GOOD feeling about this.

And can't even handle the wait to hear what JW has in store for us musically.

25:36 to 26:39 says it all!

But that was my point. Even at face value they were dangerous for the heroes and were savage
They just happened to be furry. Cut off their hair and they would be like nightmarish creatures.

Even their faces aren't cute. Look at them closely and they are ugly looking.

It is just because they resemble teddy bears that we think of them as cute
but like I said about their faces... They aren't even that cutr

:lecture :lol

1991 was the last year I went to the cinema.

The Silence of the Lambs
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
The Rocketeer
Terminator 2

I've never been tempted back. Would much rather own a film to keep and re-watch without being bothered by a bunch of noisy strangers! (During Silence of the Lambs the guy in front kept calling out "No, No, No!" as Jame Gumb stalked Clarice in the darkness!)

If "Judassic World" went through so many heads as "a lotta fun" then EpVII gonna be "one hell of a ride". :lol
