Finding out all these things about JJ's approach to this film makes me believe there is little chance this film will be disappointing.

I guess they picked the right director after all, he put so much into this film, reminds me of what Donner did with Superman the Movie and we know how that turned out..an iconic classic to this day :hi5:

Yup! Knowing as much as we do at this point the chance of this movie being disappointing is low. (that's why i kinda laugh at the haterz cause the arguments they bring to the table are minuscule) Having a huge fan direct is going to pay off big-time.

Yup. J.J. is a "superfan", making this "fan fic", but in the best possible way.

Other interesting points from the interview: They didn't totally discard George's concepts for the new films, but "emanated" from them, and the TFA will directly (but briefly) address the fact troopers are no longer clones.

IKR..and I'm not a huge fan of his Star Trek films either. I really hope JJ surprises us with a Donner like performance on the film:pray:

The troopers helmets now have a suction noise when coming off the head. I don't really think that's a spoiler is it? LOL!

Hard to believe Ren's saber and the FO trooper's designs where inspired by the iPhone..genius! :yess:

Nah, was mentioned in the TIME interview. They agonized over whether trooper costumes had evolved that far in 30 years!

One other thing: assuming J.J. isn't lying/being diplomatic when he says he liked the prequels, does that mean Simon Pegg no longer respects him?

I thought the trooper as a whole did evolve since Jedi? :dunno how do you explain Finn?

Yeah, as mentioned above, the fact they're no longer clones is directly addressed in TFA too. In fact they were no longer clones by the time of Rebels.

But my point regarding the costumes is, J.J. and crew were very careful with how tech had evolved in "the future of the past".

I love the idea of Finn as a disillusioned Stormtrooper, but as J.J. openly admits, it wouldn't have the same impact without having seen the previous films. All this is "standing on the shoulders" of what has come before.

I wonder if Phasma is supposed to be the first ever Trooper that is female in the film's logic which is why she has a special looking armor and cape :dunno

It actually never occurred to me she was female until the producers made a point of mentioning it. Maybe we'll see her without the helmet. Otherwise I didn't think we needed to know.

Well here's to y'all, honestly I became a stickler of high hopes of films since Indy KOTCS.
