Kylo was a nobody, I had no connection to that character so him doing what he did felt empty.
Then the follow up was just very insulting.
 EOM?
Hans death scene was the best part of the movie for me. So dark, so hopeless, so well played by driver god I loved it......
True, but it's as much to do with modern times and audiences as it is to do with the original films. The OT was unlike anything ever seen before, whereas today's audiences (and filmmakers, for that matter) have seen (and done) it all.
It was a pivotal scene, I'm not certain what others expected to happen. Kylo had a relationship with Max's character and he struck him down without a thought. He had villagers killed without a thought. While speaking with Snoke, he mentioned Han didn't matter. Han's death at the hands of Kylo signified he didn't care and Solo didn't matter. Anyone with children would understand Han's sacrifice. I find no argument in the way Han's death was handled.
While I understand they were in the midst of a conflict and time wasn't on their side, I agree somewhat to the handling of his passing by Chewe and Leia. I'd expect a bit more emotion versus ho-hum
The extent of their grief was like they got a phone call from an annoying telemarketer.
Yes, I especially thought Chewie should have gone berserk given their bond. Arms should have been removed from sockets.
I was expecting
Han to actually kill his son, which is how I took Leia saying to "bring him home" meaning if he was too far gone to the dark side to off him and give him peace
Harrison squashed that idea early in scripting.......he is one and done.
Yup yup, but at least make us believe that.
