So I feel a bit dirty saying this. I ...ahem... acquired it digitally. I don't feel guilty because I have pre-ordered it from Amazon, iTunes and the Disney store. :lol

I just wanted to say that even though the copy I have is 720 not 1080, it looks ASTOUNDING in HD at home. I'm rarely impressed these days, but ****. The sound is awesome as well. And I might be going crazy but I think there are a few very subtle changes from the theatre version.

Can you tell us in spoiler tags what those changes are?

What?? "NOOOOO!"

:lol
Don't worry nothing that would change your love of the movie. I need to watch it again, but a few things jumped out at me, the audio seemed to have more atmospherics/sound FX, a few of the shots seemed like different takes (troopers at start for example) and the edit points seemed a little different at times and some other bits and pieces. I only noticed because I've seen the original so many damn times now in the theatre. I will watch it again and make a proper comparison. It seemed better even.

Ditto, and no you are not going crazy. I thought the same thing. :lol

Glad it wasn't just me! :duff

Sounds like it's probably the (pure) IMAX sound mix. Not sure about those different shots, though. We'll have to see.

Lucas all over again!!!!!!

MUAHAHAHAHA!!

Yeah, maybe with the sound. And I saw this in 4 different theatres. For example the wind on Jaaku was much more apparent. It's great by the way. But I get a sense the shots have changed a bit, like a final master edit was done that sharpened up things. I'm pretty sure (but would not bet my house on it) that some of the takes and edit points are different. Rey's scenes on Jaaku, the troopers landing at the opening, stuff like that. The only way to really check is to download one of those horrible HD cam copies and put them side by side. :lol

I just chatted with my one acquaintance who catered TFA on location. A couple other tidbits that I found interesting:

1. He was allowed to watch the filming of pretty much all of the interior Falcon scenes as well as everything in Maz' cantina.

2. Every member of the crew who could fit into a Stormtrooper costume was allowed to be in the movie for Hux' speech (which was actually filmed outside even though they were surrounded by massive green screens.)

3. He had no idea that Luke Skywalker was going to be in the movie. That was all hush hush even during filming.

4. Lots of actors visited the sets to watch filming, he specifically remembered Elijah Wood and Daniel Craig (though he didn't know Craig would actually do that little bit as a Stormtrooper.)

5. He was allowed to watch the scene where Leia hugs Rey but none of the crew had any idea what the context of the scene was. They tried to piece together certain scenes they watched but still didn't know that Han died in the movie.

You're buddy is one lucky SOB.

If that was me I’d make business cards for myself saying “Section 2 Row 17 Stormtrooper #73.” :)

He decided not to be in the scene. :cuckoo: He's not a SW fan so he didn't bother getting suited up since "no one would have seen my face anyway." I was all "Dude! You should have gone out there and when all the troopers did the 'heil Hux' salute you could have lowered your arm just a split second after everyone else so you could say 'that was me!'" :lol He was obsessed with Daisy Ridley but otherwise the experience was all but lost on him.

Now that's very cool!

That sounds like an awesome experience! What a lucky guy. But to not get into Stormie armor for the Hux's speech- dang! :gah:

Late to the party Just saw the trailer for the deleted scenes and What a bunch of sneaky bastards with the added time code.
No way a fancut can be made lol, you Will have to buy their extended cut if they do one.
