By "organic" I mean practical, tangible... real. They're solid objects that can be touched and felt. And I personally think that still makes a difference. It's 2013 and it's still very rare when a CG image looks truly photorealistic. Hell, I personally prefer clunky model work against blue screens over the current over-reliance on animation. It's a personal preference, yes... But it's definitely one I share with many. It's time for SW to be a good bit less cartoony again. And that's not just in tone, it's in aesthetics as well.
They probably won't be doing practical FX just for the sake of it, if it's cheaper then yes. But they will still use CG when it can do what they need more realistically and when it's cheaper. Just like any movie. I think they might tone down how much FX is necessary in general based off the actual story.
There are bad CG in movies, but there's much more bad practical FX than that. If it weren't for CG then most of the movies/TV that you like these days wouldn't exist.
CG is fine when done with taste. i love the way Fincher utilizes it... it literally has to be pointed out. it's like a spice... overuse only throws things off balance. a cg alien character superimposed over a green screen is basically a cartoon...
That's what I call ROTS. A cartoon with a few live action things thrown in. Like Roger Rabbit in reverse.

We're taking an RV to Scotland? I'm so confused.
He knows he's gotta wear a skirt, right?
And use sets more rather than actors working with a blue screen. that hurt the PT's when you could tell the actors weren't lined up holding a CG person or thing and it felt like it hurt their acting because they were in a big room with a blue screen (or green or whatever color it is). especially bad in TPM.
