Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I reckon there should be a scene with Qui-Gon & Leia; with Luke & Ewan Kenobi - it'd be an interesting thread added to the tapestry.

Both Skywalkers would have their own little personal imaginary friend to talk them into doing crazy ****. :lol

Man - it's gotta be said. That little puppet looks ALIVE.

John Knoll & co. never got CLOSE to that in the PT with their Pixar aliens.

Ever. :lol

Wasn't Qui-Gon totally full of bad judgment in the Phantom Menace? Would be funny if his ghost came back and started persuading the characters to do more questionable things that just led the good guys down a path of misery and suffering.

How do you figure that? I saw him as the only character with clarity. He knew what the force directed and was willing to submit himself to it's will, even at his own detriment.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Qui-Gon was the one who got them outta Mos Espa! He played those stupid Pixar aliens good. :duff

He was a rebel - a good thing. The Jedi were sleep walking all through the PT. :lol

That said - any connection between him & Leia wouldn't make sense.

You'd think Anakin would be the one 'communing' with her - if not Ben, anyway..

If the situation were reversed, and the movies with CGI for Yoda had been made before they did the ones with the puppet, then no one would think that the puppet is better.

BS. :lol

There's true artistry / craft - & there's PC wizardry.

The two are universes apart.

I read somewhere about multiple instances of his making bad decisions, and being unable to sense when things were wrong, like in the opening scene.

But of course, his main problem was that he kept pushing and pushing for Annie to become a Jedi when Yoda knew better. If the Force wanted the empire to take over, etc., then I guess his decisions weren't so off.

There's a bunch of things that they didn't do with the puppet that would make him look more like a living thing---his skin doesn't look like skin (in terms of how light goes through skin), his eyes are often crossed, he doesn't have enough articulation in his mouth since it's a puppet, and his forehead moves up and down because of the hand inside there, which can't happen in a real creature because of his skull.

Quigon was among the only Jedi who heeded the call of the "Living Force". He did what he felt it willed him to do. The Jedi had become apostate by the time of TPM by using the force to further their interests. The force used Anakin as a means to wipe out both Jedi and Sith. At least that is what Georgie boy was going for anyhoo. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Uncle George didn't know what he wanted. :lol

That apartment scene in ROTS when Anakin tells Padme that he feels 'lost' ?

Direct reference to George's head space at the time, right there. :lecture

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Actually, George has said the opposite, that the Sith are always bad, that it was about defeating the Sith rather than balance. But he's also retarded about his own universe

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Other than Qui-gone (as in dead), the Jedi were so stoopid. :lol
Yep.

There was a Sith Lord controlling everything in the FIRST film.. yet they were cool.

It just looked pathetic. Sure, the Sith were trying to be inconspicuous, but that only goes so far with force sensitive guardians on the job.

Or so you'd think. :lol

By the third film - they were dropping like flies. They were asleep through the whole thing, & you don't end up feeling anything for them, because their own stupidity killed them in the end. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I think the new titles should aim to make the overall saga as confusing as possible.

Episode VII: A CGI Menace

Episode VIII: Return of the MoCap Character

Episode IX: Revenge of George Lucas

Fixed:lecture :lol
