Wow, 30 plus years later and the RA still using the same flight suits.

I love it, glad they kept it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I f'king love it. It has a lineage to the original and is much more faithful than the Enterprise.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I seriously got goosebumps watching that clip. I hope this is a home run !!!

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

That plot sucks, seriously? I hope that is a wind up.

X-wing is cool, funnily enough it looks cgi in the clip:p

yeah thats what I thought, but more and more productions are shying from CGI in favor of real effects whenever possible

I would buy in a heartbeat the HT X-Wing 1/6 or 1/12

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

There's some discussion on Reddit about how the wings split, there appears to be a seam visible from overhead. This is an interesting mockup somebody did.

Also worth pointing out the Classic X-Wing's wings pivot around a center axle, on this bird it appears the wings open at two pivot points on the surface of the hull.

If empire finds luke's hand, does that mean we may see an evil luke clone? Hammil did say he had to grow a beard for this role......

Hmmm

please, no more clones!

with such an incredibly rich and robust mythology to draw from, i cannot imagine this is what Disney would come up with. two Death Stars later we get a Solar System destroyer? perhaps if Homer Simpson was writing the script...

I need to stay off Reddit for the rest of the evening. Too many EU fanboys are determined it's a Z95 Headhunter, It doesn't matter to them Ralph McQuarrie designed this this almost 40 years ago.

Let go of the EU FFS!!! The new movies don't owe anything to a bunch of mediocre books.

Published July 20, 2014 by Devin FaraciSTAR WARS EPISODE VII Follow-Up: John Boyega’s Character Is…

This morning I shared some vague, broad stroke aspects of the set-up (ie, first 20 minutes or so) of Star Wars Episode VII, stuff that was confirmed to me by multiple sources. It's been fascinating watching the internet take this info and kind of do its own thing and also watching people get all hard scifi on Star Wars. While looking at reactions I've seen that one piece of info that I held back has already been rumored, so I figured it's safe to tell you the most basic nature of John Boyega's character in Episode VII.

Potential spoilers for the truly, truly spoiler sensitive.

As others have said, Boyega plays a storm trooper. A storm trooper who basically deserts and teams up with Daisy Ridley's character.

Before you ask: no, I don't know what this means for the state of the galaxy at the beginning of Episode VII. There are more details I've been told that actually make the state of the galaxy even more confusing to me; I'm hoping to hunt down more specifics in the weeks to come. But in case you're unsure about the information I've been sharing, know this: Boyega as storm trooper is the single most confirmed piece of news I've ever written about in terms of sheer volume of independent sources who agree. All aspects of this Star Wars information has been vetted by multiple people, but the Boyega stuff has been repeated and confirmed to me by so many people now that it's almost comical.

One last thing: a lot of people have found my initial report hard to believe. Me too! That's why I got multiple sources to confirm it before I ran anything. Could they be wrong/spreading disinformation? Anything's possible, but both of these sources have proven to be absolutely impeccable in the past.

One last, last thing: one of my sources tells me that the desert planet in Episode VII is not Tatooine. I guess that in my attempt to be vague in the initial report I didn't make that clear enough. I only have that from one source, though.

I don't believe it. Unless he is a deserter that becomes a Jedi...

Idk. Just seems campy. Especially for him being a major lead, supposedly.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

JJ Abrams is a master of misdirection. I laugh at anyone taking these 'reports' seriously

Right!? Haha

Nothing will break for atleast another 6 months. Until a set photo slips up.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

John Boyega is actually playing a young, time traveling Lando Calrissian.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

No as have said before he will be playing Chewbacca's retarded bastard son Lumpy.
