I dunno. Its always been known that Harrison wanted Han to die in ROTJ. Not surprising if he finally gets his wish in 2015

I'm skimming over the hyper babble.

Just happy to peruse at my own selective leisure at this point.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

During an appearance at Wizard World San Antonio Comic Con, Peter Mayhew sat on a panel and shared stories from the Star Wars set, how playing such an iconic character has changed his life, his thoughts on the upcoming sequels and more…

From Blastr (via MakingStarWars):
After joking that he was working on a little project that he thinks some people might show up to watch, he said the J.J. Abrams-directed Episode VII “will be the best Star Wars film I will have seen.” Mayhew added the film will utilize no, or very little, computer generated effects and will instead be very practical.

As for behind the scenes tidbits, Mayhew revealed that the day this table read photo was taken, he had previously seen many of his former costars like Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, but it was the first time in a while he had met with Harrison Ford. Mayhew said the actor nearly “throttled” him with a hug.

In other Ford news, a fan inquired whether Mayhew and the rest of the cast was giving Han Solo grief for reportedly being injured by a door on the Millennium Falcon set. He said everything we’ve been reading in the press about that is false. What that precisely means regarding Ford’s ankle injury, Mayhew did not say.
From day 1 since Harrison Ford’s injury happened we at SW7N told you that the stories in the press about the seriousness of Ford’s injury and the possible delay of the movie were false. I’m glad Chewie confirmed that. :)
When asked about being treated like royalty by younger actors, he said Hayden Christensen and even Ewan McGregor viewed him as an “old professor” on the Episode III set. Mayhew said he advised Christensen how much Star Wars impacts the lives of the people in it and when the young Anakin saw him again at a premiere and agreed, the once and future Wookiee told him he’d “graduated.”

Mayhew also said that the scenes on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back were among his most difficult to film. When George Lucas noticed Chewie wasn’t quite covered in enough snow, he asked the actor to roll around on the cold ground. Even with the suit on, he was freezing and when he went to take it off later in the day, it dropped to the ground in a frozen heap. That night, they had to throw the Wookiee costume in the wash at their hotel and just hope it was still there the next day.

Finally, Mayhew said he has never had trouble slipping back into the Chewbacca role. He said he doesn’t know how it happens, but as soon as he puts on the head, the Wookiee emerges and the man gets lost in there.

Just rumors

[SPOILER CAUTION]
‘For what it’s worth
-Title will be the first to feature only one word.
-Han and Leia had two children, a boy and a girl. Though they weren’t twins. The elder boy was said to have died in childbirth, but was secretly raised by Max Von Sydow’s character. A girl, “O…..” was born a few years later. The male child won’t appear until the next film [which takes place nearly a decade later]. This is why only one offspring has been cast for Episode 7.
-Oscar Isaac’s character “K….” is shipmate on the Falcon, is “O…..”‘s love interest, and inherits the ship when Han perishes.
-Luke inhabits Obi-Wan’s old home, is sought out after a disturbing turn of events, returns to Dagobah for information/reflection.
-Boyega’s character is childhood friends with “O…..”, is a pilot, accompanies “O….” to find Luke.
-Film will mark the first time we see the assembly of a light saber on screen, following rare ‘element’ acquisition by young Jedi in training on remote world (recently filmed in Ireland).
-Adam Driver plays an officer.
-Gwendoline Christie plays a general.
…more to come’

Ridley's stunt double

Well that's not gonna happen. THIS movie is basically a send off. They're moving away from the old and making way for the new generation of characters. This movie is just to rekindle that one more time.(ep8/9 will focus more on the new characters) Luke may be around a bit throughout but i think this is Han and Leia's last night out. They may use some familiar faces from time to time but they will in no way be leads.

McQuarrie Stormtroopers?

https://www.starwars7news.com/2014/...s-episode-7-revenge-of-the-stormtroopers.html

I think they may have something if these rumors prove to be true, particularly the stuff in the link.

I can see the movie being about the Stormie that defects, then Gwendolyn going after him. The Stormie has Force powers, although he may not know it yet, and Gwendolyn always sensed it, because she too has Force powers, and kept an eye on him. When he defects, she has to get him back because with his powers he is a valuable asset to the Empire and Max Von Sydow. Maybe she reveals her powers to him when she first tries to capture him, which also triggers his powers and allows him to escape. Maybe the girlfriend recognizes the Force powers, having heard about it from her parents Han and Leia, and she asks their help to get the defector to Luke so he can train as a Jedi.

One thing I didn't like the idea of from the link was that all or many storms would be yielding lightsabers. Sure it's cool to see, but it's really impractical from a military tactics point of view since fighting would have to be done in close proximity. Makes sense for the Jedi/Sith because they are holding on to tradition from a more "civilized" time. But in modern warfare for armies? Not so much.

Anyway, I'm getting excited about the movie. These newer rumors are certainly better than the original batch that started coming out.

My theory is the Imperials drop armour altogether in the wake of the Endor battle when it became clear that it's good for precisely nothing.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

All I wanna know is this: are we gonna get classic stormtroopers or something new?

I have no doubt that the armor will be different than the OT. It's been nearly 40 years since the last stormies, so the armor should have evolved by that point. Just look at how the armors evolved in the PTs (not that those are anything to really go by). My best guess is that the new stormies will be based on the McQuarrie sketches, just like we saw of the X-Wing.

My theory is the Imperials drop armour altogether in the wake of the Endor battle when it became clear that it's good for precisely nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the stormies looked like the Mcquarrie version.

:lol

Luke even said ''I can't see a thing in this helmet'' - was he just not using it right?

To be fair, the Stormtroopers killed all those Rebel mother ****ers in the opening fight.

True, so 9 or 10 Stormtroopers shooting at the same time down a narrow corridor are bound to hit something.

Kind of like the saying about a room full of typing monkeys producing a great novel.
