Seems like the trailer announcement didn't even get 25% of the TPM level of excitement, even with the OT actors involved.

PT burned people worse than I thought.

I wonder why even do the limited theater thing if they're releasing it online at the same time anyway

I kind of wonder the same thing, but I also think I might go to a theater if there was one near enough. I remember going to see the AOTC trailer with my friend and her kids on Monsters Inc.

Possibly, but at the time TPM came out there hadn't been a SW movie since ROTJ. Now you can watch SW on TV every week.

I think people are a little starwarsed out, heck so was I, after the prequels.

How could you not be? Star Wars has been omnipresent ever since the special editions were released in theaters back in '97. That's over a decade of constant movies, tv shows, video games, merchandise and it's still going. Hell, even the OT petered out after about 8 years and went away so we could look back on it fondly. That's why people were so excited for those prequels, they actually had a chance to miss Star Wars while it was gone.

I'm not - in any way at all. In fact - the thought that I may see Han Freakin Solo in new footage has me absolutely geeking out.

The PT to me was interesting to see where they would go with it but there is an unexpected excitement swelling up about an actual sequel to ROTJ.

That being said - the 88sec trailer will probably be a 80sec montage on the two previous trilogies cut together with lens flair and tag lines leading up to a cut away of a space ship then fade to black. :lol

Still can't wait. :)

I'll tell you why. Nobody wants to be sucked into the immense hype Episode 1 had. I was young then but I heard that people camped out at toy stores for episode 1 figures, saw a movie just to see the trailer and three fast food chains supported it. Nobody wants to go through that pain again of being mega hyped and then let down.

So yea people are interested but it wont be immense hype like episode 1 got.

Right where is it?

Really, really surprised how quiet things are with Episode VII. I mean why are we not bombarded with Star Wars excitement and geekdom?

Which cinema is first to show it? Who will be first? etc etc...
At what time tomorrow/today will the very first screening happen, on what film... strange days..

Maybe the interest levels really have plummeted.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser

Production Logos fade in and out over slow, new rendition of the force theme. Bold french horns become distinct as red and green lasers blast through the LUCASFILM emblem and the music transforms into a heroic march similar to the "Throne Room" by John Williams.

A brief series of shots involving three or four gigantic ships hovering over what looks to be a Tie-Fighter junkyard.

Oscar Isaac's dressed in a fur coat accompanied by six pilots approaching a spaceship offscreen (most likely the Falcon).

Troopers running through a narrow, brightly lit corridor while under fire.

Space battle involving nine or ten Tie-Fighter-esque ships and about fifteen other compact ships in an organized formation moving toward them.

Gwendoline Christie pats C-3PO on the back while 3PO crouches down to R2 in some kind of machine room that radiates neon blue tints.

Music slows as snow troopers, blasters pointed, stand in the way of three of four rebel pilots trying to walk past them. Adam Driver in the forefront.

Voice over of what sounds like a robotic MAX VON SYDOW: "The tribulation of the past will veer its vengeance on those..."

Princess Leia, side profile, wearing a dark blue royal gown ascends on some kind of shaft with two royal guards behind her.

"Those who break the sacred oath of the old republic..."

Han Solo, kneeling down with Chewbacca just slightly out of frame.

Music changes to main theme.

"Those who threaten the resurgence of the force..."

A cloaked figure, hands possibly bound together, slowly walking into what looks like an entirely glass room overlooking space and two other planets.

Brief shot of mechanic droids moving through a hallway with Chewbacca following behind. He growls or "speaks" to someone off screen.

Brief shot of two ships colliding together.

Forrest planet creature peaking its head from behind a shrubby cave.

R2 whistling in a gigantic metallic hanger.

Shot of Han Solo looking up at a ship (obviously the Millenium Falcon)

HAN: "We might have to give er' a little sweet talk this time."

Chewbacca looks over at Han and purrs.

HAN tilts his head.

HAN: "Well maybe a little more than the standard fare."

STAR WARS logo blasts onto screen with THE FORCE AWAKENS appearing slowly.

The falcon zooms through both logos.

DECEMBER 2015 appears."

Who knows what's in the Trailer, it sounds completely different but they cut another trailer so maybe that one is last minute. The one I heard about also had the first shot be Oscar Isaac though. They have that in common.

Who's oscar isaac?

He's not Luke or Han that's for certain. :lol

If either Trailer is right we will get a shot of the new villain I'm curious how people are going to react.
