If they add a few years to the target audience and go for teens and young adults it will already be much better than the PT.

Actually that's what Lucas did with CW and RotS.

By "CW" are you referring to AOTC? Either way, the last two PT films were pretty juvenile. Although that could just be Lucas' post-OT writing style. ROTS did indeed feel darker (and I do rather like it), but it sure as hell felt like it was still talking down to us the whole time.

Because the franchise should be completely inconsistent in its approach so that older fans wouldn't feel old?

I didn't get goosebumps but I didn't hate it, although the memes are hilarious

I like it, but I do need it to make sense, someone said that maybe those were exhausts, cause maybe the beam is so strong it's unstable, and I love that theory.

fun reading all the comments. I cannot recall another franchise that invokes such emotions (good and bad).

In the end, we are getting a new star wars movie. A NEW STAR WARS MOVIE! I never thought it would happen.

Yeah, The Clone Wars did redeem Lucas with the prequel haters to a certain extent. The PT was the story George wanted to tell while the CW was what a lot of the old-school fans wanted to see.
