In comparison though, at least the Emperor's costume adds mystery, I always wondered, before the prequels, if he was an alien, really old, etc. When Kenner made a 12" figure for the first time, I was excited to be able to pull the hood back and see what was hidden, only to find a smooth skull only because they only sculpted what you could see and stitched the hood to his head lol.
With snoke, I am curious who he is and where he came from from a story perspective because, unlike the emperor, the very first movie with him has him being a key part of a a number of characters lives, swaying Kylo from good and away from his parents, a factor in Luke's self exile, etc. and, where the emperor just seemed like the guy in charge of the Empire, with Snoke, I'm curious what caused him to bring the First Order into existence. Then I see his costume, and I feel like my answers will disappoint me.
, where when we learned how Palpatine became Emperor, you saw how many people he had to play and realized how powerful he was to do all that.
