15 minutes in:

- MCU humor
- White men are either evil or old farts or background servants
- Asian kamikaze girl gets 1 munite of screen time and dramatic visuals
- Chewie meets Luke gets 10 seconds of nothing

I have no words... I'll try to finish it today but it's gonna be very hard to sit through.

May the force be with you Riddick (the force from the original trilogy not the Disney Magic force from TLJ)

Chewie keeps getting the rough end of the pineapple in this trilogy.

I lost count of the times I had to walk away and go and do something else.

Even the PT wasn't like that.

I assume you are watching the bad rip that's downloadable (which is where I got my avatar from), so that's even worse really. At least some stuff looked cool, which made it a bit easier to sit through. But I can understand why you wouldn't wanna pay to see this. I download 90% of the movies I watch (in blu ray quality), and half the time I'm disappointed when I paid to watch one in the theater. Didn't expect to be disappointed with this one though.

I'm at the point in my life where I feel nothing for brainless visuals.
If I don't care about the story or characters I won't care for pretty pictures either.
Plus I grew up watchin' bad VHS copies so it doesn't bother me at all.

Is it the Cam that begins with the yellow "WwW.SeeHD.WS" message.

The picture sharpens up from my normal viewing position and the audio's good.

A Blu-ray rip would be prettier, but as Riddick says it won't help with the story and characters (or the dialogue and delivery).

Oh yeah, for sure, there is no saving this movie from all the bad writing and decisions. But yeah, at least in the theater a few scenes were pleasant to look at.
The best one being probably Holdo driving the Resistance ship through the First Order's main ship.

What's blowing my mind right now is that I don't even want to see it a second time. That's really strange because even with some of the average/bad DC and Marvel movies, I usually give them another chance (except Suicide Squad).
I didn't love Rogue One but still watched it twice and watched the second Vader scene countless times.
But here I just know it's over, there isn't a single scene that makes me think "oh can't wait to see that again". All I can think of is what they did with Luke and I don't want to watch this unfold a second time.

Disney is reporting that roughly 60% of the entire TLJ opening weekend audience was male, and more than 60% was over the age of 25 (RO's average audience age was 35.)

The media seems to have latched onto "diehard" fans as being behind the backlash ("if" it exists,) and also characterizing it as a reaction by older male fans against outdated OT expectations and "progressive" casting choices (i.e. female) That some small core of older male diehards were trolling the younger majority who welcomed the new... but when 2/3's of your opening audience is older males, it makes it a little hard to swallow.

Interesting to see where this movie goes from here - repeat viewing by hardcore (and older) fans is what drives SW films to the sky-high B.O. levels.

The Mouse Empire propaganga at work. :lol
Feels like we're still in barbaric times where the ruler has heralds in his pocket.

Ok, now I know most people wanted Rey to be "no one" so they all essentially got their wish, but has Kathleen Kennedy not said all along that the Saga Episodes have been and always will be the story of the Skywalker family?

I just don't see where they are going to go with 9 now! Like Luke is Dead, Leia will be written out due to Carrie's death in real life. Rey is just some random girl born to junky parents, Poe is no one, Finn is no one! WTF has any of that got to do with the Skywalker family? Surely it can't all now centre on and around Ben Solo who is the movies villain?

Killing off Luke was a huge mistake IMO. Also the handling of the character. This is the guy that went to the death star alone to confront the Emperor as he believed that his father, one of the most feared people in the galaxy could be turned. Yet he didn't think his young nephew could be saved before he'd even turned and instead raised a lightsaber to him in an attempt to kill him in his sleep, seriously!!!

I literally do not care for Episode 9 now.

Yeah,I don't get the "look at all the pretty colors visuals" as justification to make a bad story a good movie

Re: The Last Jedi

So after second viewing.. I feel more positive about the movie.. reason is for me..

--> Once you sat aside the urge of having this "OMG" reaction about who Snoke is and the big Parent reveal from Ray.. its a pretty good movie. I think Disney shoot themselves into the foot by building up the mystery around Snoke and Ray's parent in TFA .. and even in TLJ .. Rey wanted so bad to know who her parents are ..(and even more then the audience.. ) just to get this huge disappointment ..

So I shut myself off the movie at that point kind of.. not really enjoying this movie anymore..

But with second viewing, I knew what to expect.. and I took it all in. And it was great. Yes, some scenes where just not necessary (Milk scene.. animal cruelty ... maybe even the whole casino thing was not needed) .. But otherwise.. great. The battles were stunning.. Luke was awesome.. also his finale was fantastic and could have been better IMO

This movie is dreadful of combination of :

- Jar Jar Rose.

- Fin cringey story.

- Rebel actually ******* suicide bombers, they are real terrorist.

- Rey practice swing lightsaber like kid and she now supersaiyan.

- Luke died as senile coward man

- Leia Flying.

- Snoke died with less screentime than Martha in BvS and MoS.

Re: The Last Jedi

I would love an Old Luke Premium Format statue. I'd probably even be a sucker for a new outfit Rey and unmasked Kylo. Which means Sideshow will probably give us five versions of the Lobster Guards :)

Sure, the movie had some great visuals, but isn't that to be expected by now? Imagine if this movie had terrible visuals? I think the visuals and the comedy were all great, Chewie eating Porgs was great, but none of that can really overcome lazy writing and poor story line.

Well, after second viewing I see this movie in a brighter light.. reason for that
