Here is an interesting article about the Lucasfilm story group:
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/22/movies/star-wars-last-jedi-women-run-universe.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=second-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news
I am sure everyone here will love the following quote: "Ms. Hart’s first move was to make the story group entirely female." That doesn't sound incredibly inclusive. However, to muddy things the article later claims the story group is now made up of 7 men and 4 women.
As for what I though about the movie, I would have liked it a lot better if Luke was treated differently. One other quibble is that Holdo's arc would have been a lot more effective if it was Ackbar. Instead we get a rando that didn't quite looked dressed for a military ship while Ackbar gets an off-screen death.
Wow, explains a lot about the problems of Lucasfilm, not Disney, this is a Lucasfilm issue. And that algorithm? How much do you bet thats going up against rom-com's etc?
