Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

Great special effects, terrible story

Actually its a good story...just one that had been done many times before (and told better).

Pixle gets more ***** than anyone here.

Rumors have it Disney is meeting this week to discuss how they are going to handle Leia moving forward.

Some of her key scenes (already filmed for this film) are apparently:
"Leia reunion with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and a confrontation with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), her son who killed Harrison Ford's Han Solo."

I think for the sake of the story, they should keep her story as intended for this film and shorten it for Ep 9 and use CGI.

I've also heard rumors that she is left in a "coma" at the end of 8.

Who knows though, those scenes sound great just from the brief description.

Or just kill her too.

this is what should happen, just wrap her story up. She's had 5 movies at that point.

I wouldn't be surprised if we hear about re-shoots soon, it only makes sense.

Re: Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15th, 2017)

And let's be honest here, Luke is probably not going to survive.

Han and Chewie's roles were just to transition audiences into buying the new characters. They've served their purpose. This new sequel Trilogy wasn't interested in any sort of reunions. As soon as Han perished, Chewie was brushed aside (no much needed interaction/comfort with Leia). Just by design Luke, Han and Leia were never going to be seen together either.

Between TFA and Episode 8, I'm sure Leia serves whatever story purpose they had in mind. She's the equivalence of Mon Mothma at this point whereas Luke is Yoda/Obi-Wan (and we know what happened to them) to Rey. Both are disposable.

This is Star Wars now (along with BB-8).
