The wild thing is, the regular stand is a better looking diorama base than the reused little tree with the deluxe.
But there’s no chance HT will rectify their foolish decision to penalise people who buy the most expensive version of a figure

I recently managed to get my preorder for the Deluxe switched over to the Regular. :yess:

At the time he was only offering one version, and I only recently realised he'd listed the Regular a few months later.

The courtyard base is evocative of a very atmospheric scene, plus it has the matching backdrop if I opt to use it.

Wasn't bothered about another little green stinker or the lantern, and Yoda's tree base would've ended up donated to another figure. My custom courtyard stand has already found a home in the fifteenth century!

Any news on release yet?? This was one of my most anticipated releases, but then i got a bit burned out on hot toys and the the quality control on my clone wars anakin was pretty bad for the belt and i cant get the arm to come out to change to the battery arm. But still would like to pick this one up

Nothing yet, unfortunately. This, Kuiil, Mando Luke and S2 Mando are all due pretty soon, so I'm guessing we’re going to see a couple pushed back. 🫤

I stumbled across this interview with Howard Chan …

Which I am sure I read before and found this bit an absolute laugh fest:

“Hot Toys has improved production time on its figures — the first 1/6 scale Stormtrooper took nine months from prototype to mass production, while the new Rogue One line only was completed in only four”

Lol yeah the release windows dont mean a whole lot. And they have completely oversaturated their lineup

Well it’s great to know that they can produce a figure in less than half the time now and still find it acceptable to make us wait more than twice as long from PO to release.
So long as things are good at their end, HT are happy. Improving the customer experience hasn’t been a consideration for a loooong long time. We pay, they delay.

*considers sticking her next to Rex*

Hey, she's a quarter of the price and I would not have to wait a year, either.

[I'm not really gonna do this.]

These delays are ridiculous, the 4th one this week? Hunter, Ahsoka, Mando and Kuill? With Luke probably around the corner?

So we might get Bo, Echo, Jesse, and Vaughn before the end of the year? Is that really it? Yet we'll continue to get weekly pre-orders.

Did you really believe all that stuff would magically come out before the end of the year?

If they can announce 1+ figures per week, they should be able to release 1+ figures per week.

The way they’re going, delays will only continue to get worse.
That's not the way it works. It would be nice if it did, but it doesn't. Mezco, Hasbro and every other manufacturer are facing similar issues.

I agree it's likely to get worse before it gets better. But the only thing you can really do about it is stop ordering.

'That's not how it works,' although true, isn't going to solve the ever increasing problem.
It's would seem to be common sense that when you have a giant backlog, you either increase production or slow down with announcements but HT just keep adding to the pile while delaying further to the point that many of us are now quite aware that we aren't that likley to care about these D+ trend-of the-week characters that occupy the majority of HTs listings now. I guess HT just won't view it as an issue while peoplel continue ordering figures they won't receiev for years.

It'll be interesting to observe how things go over the next couple years though.
The increased prices and state of the economy making the hobby less accessible than ever, increased wait times with continual delays, an inevitable diminish in interest and excitement during that wait time, lackluster characters from uninspired media and the slow deterioration of the MCU, the likelihood that characters will have a new show/movie out along with an updated look before the first one releases so people hold off till the ideal look is acheived, a precedent of discounts and shipping deals on most figures after they release and new companies entering the market making big promises to deliver a higher standard of collectable- will all equate to fewer POs placed and maybe less sales overall.
This could lead to HT scaling back on production numbers that might speed up releases a bit and bring about the more limited, exclusive feel to the brand some wish it still had but I'd image there would need to be a sizable drop off in sales before HT considered doing anything differently.

No I didn't think they would "magically" come out, but the company has released nothing over the last 4 months after starting to get a bit back on track in the Spring.

For them to continue to push back these figures, after were already waiting 12-15 months is frustrating and ridiculous. Ahsoka and Grogu were put up for order for April 2021, and there is a strong chance we won't see her until April 2023, and lets not even talk about the delay's poor Endgame Loki has had.

Exactly. Until their sales are affected, HT is unlikely to change. And they have licensors to answer to as well, with minimum guarantees they have to pay one way or another. So they're not going to stop announcing new product anytime soon.
