I imagine they're giving us PERS due to the limited movement of the head. At this scale I'm not too bothered if her eyes don't look quite so big. This still looks like Rosario to me.

I'm guessing it's the dumb PERS. They probably have a "one size fits all" mechanism that they install into the heads which is less than ideal for likenesses like Rosario where her larger eyes are such a defining feature. Having her be able to look off the to side is nice but I wish they just gave us a traditionally sculpted head.

The regular should have had a plain head with painted eyes.... the DX should alone have the PERS. That would have made the value of the DX better. And the DX really should have two heads -- one PERS, one not.

Yeah. And poses like this will look insanely cool on the shelf (which I'm now realizing doesn't even have the cloak hiding the rest of her awesome outfit.)

***. Do I get this or the CW version? What if they make a Rebels version? I might have to break my one figure per character rule... But after that the flood gates are open. What is self-restraint? I do not know. Anyway, I think it looks cool. I'm always curious about the end result of these head sculpts though. I imagine the details on her face will be much softer when it's mass-produced but I'll wait and see. I'm hyped but there's no point in me pre-ordering this. I can wait.

You might be able to get away on a technicality (with your 1 figure per character rule) since the Mandalorian version is sort of a different interpretation of the Ahsoka character (and portrayed with a different look and actress).

It's like Superman (Christopher Reeves) and Man of Steel Superman (Henry Cavil) or all the various Batmen (Keaton, Bale, Affleck). I believe you are allowed to collect multiples if it's a re-imagining of the same character.

Do you end up constantly selling figures in order to maintain the 1 figure per character rule? Hypothetically, I assume you would sell Civil War ScarJo Black Widow in order to get the EndGame version.

I'm in for the DX Ahsoka - i have some criticisms of the portrait and this does not live up to "DX" standards. But I believe the pros outweigh the cons and the figure will like good in my steadily growing Mandalorian display.

Honestly, the lantern is strangely a draw to me. I feel like that'd look really cool with the robe on. Very wanderer-esque.
The lamp + custom glowing/flickering LED inside would make for a really cool display. That said I still also want the bridge base as a secondary display option.

Wonder if it would be possible to get that base from Toy Anxiety or something. What an annoying situation that Hot Toys could have avoided so easily. Per the usual though.

Eh I agree they could have put some more effort into the DX accessories, but they knocked it out of the park with the figure itself and that badass outfit, which is all I really care about.

Most of the fancy DX accessories that come with figures I never end up using much anyway.

Yea that?s the thing, the figure looks amazing on its own but for a DX figure it?s pretty lackluster when compared to other DX releases

Yeah I'll definitely be adding an LED to that lamp. And will try lighting up the sabers as well, although not sure yet how well the light might travel though the blades, since they're not being made for that purpose...

Good, they're crap anyway. Wish they'd do away with them permanently.

I don't get this logic. You're not obligated to use the lights but at least its more functionality to the product. Its not like its any cheaper for lacking it. These are supposed to be premium products. But what are we paying for? Give us something.

This is a DX. It should be their maximum effort but they can't make a lantern light up? Its sole purpose is to provide light. Yet they can make Mando's KFC bucket light up. IG-11 gets a detonator. Even R2 has a little working lamp.

Idk why the pic is uploading blurry,

Hope they update the sculpt, definitely needs tweaks; eyes, nose, mouth, jaw area slightly, etc.

Yeah too much scowling. She would look better with more relaxed eyes and space between the eyes and brow paint.

There it is. Those screen grabs of LantroVe’s show what I couldn’t quite put my finger on as the reason the sculpt looked off to me. It’s the eyes and eye lids mainly.

Scowling is a good way to describe the expression on this one. Rosario has some larger, brighter eyes and pronounced eye lids and those two distinctive features are missing on this sculpt.

Nope. They're very explicit about that in the product pics, even more than about the lightsabers which is just in some very fine print on the side. Lol

That's lame. I mean, they make light-up lamps all the time for MMS. This is a DX with almost nothing that makes it a DX. In fact, it has less than the usual. Even DX Maul, that shouldn't have been a DX, at least had the good sense to come with everything from the regular.

This is some kind of test from HT. Let's see what they will take, and with the higher price tag. *rubs hands and laughs*

I am NOT POing this. Message sent.

So the lantern and the lightsabers don't light up? I mean, that's what they do.....that's very disappointing at this price point.

I noticed from the description that both the cowl and the montrals are said to have bendable wires in them for posing, but none of the promotional photos appear to make use of the latter. They look the same in every photo.

I wonder what those white sabers will look like in hand? Soap sticks?
That's a great question. Guess we'll know soon when the Secret Base display photos presumably get snapped.
