It's a 3-way tie.

Oh, and Zimmer will never write a theme nearly as great as any of these (hi void :wave) :p

Star Wars and Indy are tied for me. I can't choose. Either way they're a billion times better than Superman.

I find this an interesting opinion. The Supes theme was/is instantly iconic & memorable and absolutely defines the character and that film more than anything else possibly could. What don't you like about it?

I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but I must admit I think I like the Superman theme just a little bit more. There's just something majestic about that theme that gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it. I think IrishJedi's definition of it is spot on.

I think hearing that weaker version of the Star Wars theme every week on Clone Wars has made me like it less. :lol

I could tell you the order in which I prefer those movies (Star Was>Indy>Superman) but all the themes are too great to pick one. And I do like Zimmer's work, I just can't believe anyone would compare him to John Williams. I watched Home Alone last night and the score is far memorable than most of Zimmer's movies :lol

It's simple, really. Williams writes iconic themes and scores like no other composer in the modern era. He basically scored many of our childhoods.

Jaws
Star Wars
Close Encounters
Superman
The Empire Strikes Back
Raiders of The Lost Ark
E.T.

I mean... come on. Nobody compares. Not even close. And this is just a list of his work through 1982!

And he's not just good at genre films, either. His scores for films like Born on The Fourth of July and JFK are also some of the best of all time.

Body of work wise, sure, he's clearly the best there's been.

But if the question is who is your favourite, or what are your favourite scores of all time - then the top slots would be occupied by Zimmer for me. And i'm not the only one.

Admit it Void, Nolan, Bale, and Zimmer could triple team your mother and you would have absolutely zero problems with it.

In fact you would probably have Whedon, Downey Jr, and Silvestri triple team her too, just so you could say for a fact that Nolan's team did it better.

(I only tease, no offense meant!) :1-1:
