When I first started I only planned on collecting one line, it would have saved me a lot of money if I would have stayed with that plan.

we all fall into the same trap. hehe

started off with star wars medicom and now into bowen and sideshows. got my first comiquette with the classic ironman and lately a bowen destroyer.

reckon its the first of many many. :)

whats funny is I just ordered the hot toys batpod from Joe last week for 210 dollars brand new shipped which is an outstanding price. But I had to fight with myself to find a reason not to buy it. I thought it was just going to be figures but now I fell into the trap of since I have the vehicle im gonna need 2 DX batman.

When I was a little kid I had the Kenner 18" Alien toy. The glowing head scared me, so my mom threw it away. After Alien 3 came out I sought to find one again. Halcyon started making Aliens model kits which included a recast version of the toy, so I started collecting model kits of Aliens, Terminator, Predator, RoboCop in 1992. That's when my customizing skills also started as you have to build and paint models.

Figure collecting started with the Sideshow New Line Jason and Freddy figures since there weren't many good models of them.

First Hot Toys figure was the Celtic Predator.

17 years and God knows how many tens of thousands later I'm in debt, rent an apartment instead of owning a home, and I have one car between my wife and I instead of a truck for me, a van for her, and a sports car for weekends. The price of not growing up and out of toys.

Oh, and one room doubles as a storage room for all the goddamn boxes. I hate this addiction.

Oh man... you should thank your wife every day for staying with you and putting up with all that! :horror

the very first collectible i bought was the hot toys batpod, even though i hadn't po-ed the tdk batman and it wasn't available via retail then.

that was followed up by the 1:1 t800 endoskull bust.

and with that, i was totally hooked. :D:eek:

now, i'm into all sorts of stuff: 1/6, 1:1, comiquettes, pfs, prop replicas, anime statues, etc. but i don't just buy any & everything in sight. i'm pretty discerning, and only buy it if i genuinely like it. even then, this hobby has made me close to flat broke. :duh

I started about 6 years ago with the Toybiz 7" Nazgul & horse set, and that was supposed to be it...

Well, that plan didn't work because I have a lot of 7" inch figures and as of last year I started with 1/6 scale figures, so that part of collecting has just started...

So I don't see an end coming for collecting for me. Although I lost most interest in a lot of 7" stuff after I started with 1/6 scale.

TDK sucked me into this mess :lol

Since then I've branched out all over the place from POTC to House to Starwars. But still managing to control the urge within to buy whatever looks good.
