Hi all, I was wondering if any of you here could give me some information regarding a statue repaint. Does getting a statue repainted decrease it's value or increase it. I do have one I am thinking on getting repainted but didn't know if one should leave them original the way they come from the company. Thanks so much for your time. Any help would be great.

Customising a piece should be done for your enjoyment and not resale value.
I'm guessing it will devalue the piece.

get em repainted, value will skyrocket for a custom piece, make sure you use a thick brush and pastels though, gets the best finish

Depends on the buyer. If you're dealing with someone who wants the original piece unaltered then obviously any changes you make (even if they're aesthetically better) will lower the value for them. But if you're dealing with someone who appreciates custom work then the value will increase. People on here for instance loves them some custom work. They be like:

I'll move this to the custom section but the real answer is "it depends."

You could spend hundreds of dollars on a repaint that makes the piece infinitely better - but it probably won't increase the value of the piece at all. However if it's a great paint job it's unlikely to decrease the value either. However some buyers might pass over it because they want an original.
