I thought the Weta stuff was aging well. I actually sold some of my Weta statues a few weeks ago and got high bids. Its just the high editions that go below retail. Most of the older stuff will make good profit.

Still one of the best lines, and there is still alot of interest in it. The auctions still get alot of hits and watchers.

Yep, I've had over a hundred SSW pieces on display in my home for several years now, they are "aging" very well and everyone of them still look brand new.

Boy, if the seller is legit then these were definitely a steal.

BUT I have much reservation, and it sure doesn't feel right.
We've seen deals like this pop up before, only to have the
buyer be out the money they paid. :( Hopefully the buyer(s)
paid by Paypal funded by a credit card.

Good luck, and I hope these super deals actually pan out!

It sure doesnt feel right! Insider trading? But why......I cant come up with a motive. To lower values......???? That doesnt make sense....

This guy isnt a noob, so why did he ignore his ebay research? He left a couple of grand sittin on the table!

The buyer has already left P feedback.....

Maybe they were communicating, and he made an offer on all of them, then told him to BIN. Man, he sure did get a great deal if alls on the up and up. :monkey2

I think it is as simple as:

1) Missing a higher final value fee

2) The buyer wanting protection through a legit auction

3) Some behind the scenes agreement

That would work if it was for an auction that ended early. Just be happy for the guy, it's obvious he collects LOTR Poly, and was at the right place at the right time.

I remember When the FOTR statues first came out on the bay, they were going for dirt cheap.

I agree, the buyer must have had some behind the scene agreement with the seller. Works out for both parties. Seller get to pay less final value fee and seller got some sort of insurance. I didn't think the sales weren't legit, I just think there's something more going on than on the surface.
