That's not too bad, at least compared to some of the other PF's out there.
As this is only a repaint with some lights its nat that cheap.

I believe if you order in the 2 hour window, you will get one. Probably even after that.
I don't think these will be as limited as some of you hope they are.
The original exclusive IM had an ES of 500 with a limit of "1" per customer.
The regular version IM had an ES of 750 with a limit of "2" per customer.
I'm guessing that the Stealth IM will be a mixture of the two above and have an ES of 650 with a limit of "1" per customer. I'm also guessing that there were about 200 pre-ordered at the Con and expect about 450 available for pre-order tomorrow, with a limit of 1 per customer. With that in mind, I still see it selling out within the first 30 minutes.
Well after seeing the extremely limited Biker Scout go to 1500, I assume this will be a large edition, and then all the flippers will be canceling. Another inflated piece due to scalpers.
I think you guys are on the right track. They might have originally intended for this piece to have a smaller edition size, but it seems to have been a big hit at SDCC. I think they sold a lot on the floor--several hundred maybe--and in the process realized that they were going to need to increase the intended ES a bit to keep the non-attendees happy. Some other companies would ignore their concerns/demands and the ES would be lower and sell out at the show and non-attendees would be out of luck and the piece would go through the roof on eBay. Sideshow manages to maintain a balance and is willing to adjust their plans a bit to please as many customers as possible while still keeping the edition size under control (they won't make 1500 of these). I think they might have originally planned to produce 250-500, but with the positive reception this piece has received that number has increased to 650-800 or so. I agree that there ought to be plenty to go around tomorrow, and when the 'big" number is revealed for the ES, it will no longer be seen as an instant cash cow and so some will cancel. That will release some pieces to wait listers. I predict that in the end, anybody who really wants one and is at the computer tomorrow morning will eventually get one, and this piece will maintain its value on the secondary market but will not reach the "grail" prices that some are expecting.
Sideshow could have also gone the way of the Grey Hulk: announce the item @ SDCC, NOT selling it to the attendees, and making it a PPO for everybody. I would have preferred that. Even if it meant that I would miss out on the Stealth IM. The Stealth IM is a very nice item, but if the ES is to high (like we can expect now), it's only half as nice. I'm not a flipper, so I'm not looking for profit, but I'm sure as hell looking for a stable value, meaning that the item is still worth the $400 ($300 + $42 shipping + 60 tax) I have to pay for it.... in the process realized that they were going to need to increase the intended ES a bit to keep the non-attendees happy. The thing about the Grey Hulk PF is that they did sell it to attendees at SDCC--although I don't believe that was the plan. It was not on display, but the green version was and I believe that some people specifically asked to preorder the exclusive and were allowed to do so. If I remember correctly, it was kind of an unintended thing and they had to adjust the ES after the fact in order to honor the orders that had been placed from the floor. (The exclusive Dr. Doom PF edition size also had to be adjusted because of orders taken on the floor at SDCC '05.) ...
