They are still red, look at the base of it. The plastic part the light shines through is a orange-yellow collor. And it's just the way the light from the flash is hitting it.

ah good eye! then i stand by my "Photoshop" statement, because these appear to be some of the exact pics from the same photo session he had in his last listing of SIM, and in those pics the lights shown red just like a normal SIM.

hell not sure now. lookin at that pic the lites may be painted yellow. if so then they shine thru the paint much brighter than i woulda expected!

do you want the blue still on the boot too? When I am painting these I put some putty over the lights and after the paint is sprayed over the putty(black) the lights still shine through. I can even add the brush lines in the paint job if you like too!!

LOL! yep that paint job is ass. thick n chunky like my fave peanut butter. i swear they didn't even prep it. i am happily surprised to hear how the lites shine thru the putty. didn't expect them to be that strong/bright. guess painting (nicely lol) the light lenses may be an option for a red/blue w/ yellow lites.

Here is another WIP I know alot of people thought it should be shiney so here is one I am working on now, the paint is a high gloss black laquer its so shiney you can't see its black!!

I would like to repaint mine to the traditional red & gold but the lights may be a problem. How to you get them yellow of even the glowing light as in the movie?

I may do one red and gold as far as the lights I wouldn't wanna mess with the wireing and screw up the works, you could maybe paint the lenses with an opaque yellow and end up with an orange glow. I just never played with lighting much so I would leave it as is.

...how do you ship them out with out it getting beefed up again?...added layer of foam on top?

After I seal em up real good(which I don't think the original one was) I wrap it up with some light paper before I ship, to protact em.
