Stealth Iron Man repainting value

I can say it's over rated because that's my opinion. The pose looks goofy and could have been done better. it's not about the competition, we are talking about Sideshow's.

I agree the SS Iron Man looks like a snake with limbs and a head. The only thing these statues have going for them is the size and the lights. Plus the sideshow name. If dst put this out it would be selling for 98.00 on ebay.

Overated statue IMO...BOTH RED/GOLD ANS STEALTH.

Not overrated.. amazing sculpt, pose, and execution... but is it worth the money it commands. Over valued? That I would agree with. It shouldn't go for the ridiculous prices it does, but then again that could be said about a lot of pieces. It is amazing. One of my favorites in my collection. Still prefer the Hulk and Cap in my collection. Heck, even the Green Goblin is up there.

My collection would not be the same without my SIM...awesome sculpt...detail on the armor is the best out there...I can see why it commands such a decent price and will only go up IMO...

IC your point guys, As for DST it would be going for under retail... sorry DST isnt in the same league as sideshow. We'll see what happends when ARTFX launchs theres theres looks very promising.

I feel the same way. I think the SIM is an awesome piece. Glad to own one.

imo most of the repaints are of the oozer version, its been redone 3 times
so be careful

I will be on the hunt for a SIM also but I keep retracking myself thinking about getting the red/gold first! Love the freaking lights on the SIM!

I would never pay more for any statue that does not have its original paint on it, regardless how good the paint job is. But, i would get my statue repaint for my own liking, not value.

I wrestled with picking up the EX Iron man comiquette or buying a SIM and repainting it. First off, let me say this is the BEST IM statue made IMHO. I missed the boat when the comiquette was released. The going rate was about $1200+ when I wanted to but one.

One of the things that really bugged me about the red and gold comiquette was the botched paint job on his forearms. The gold forearms just didn't look right. I couldn't bring myself to spend over $1000 on a statue with the wrong color scheme on his forearms.

So, I bought a SIM from SSC and went through HELL dealing with the first painter I paid to repaint the SIM to red and gold. This dude held my SIM for a year and hardly did anything to it. It was very frustrating to say the least.

That's when I got in contact with Rick and asked him if he would take on the project. To my delight he said yes. He finished up the repaint in no time and it looks GREAT! It's still one of my favorite pieces and it's comic accurate. I didn't save much money but I got the piece I wanted.

If you are going to repaint a SIM I highly recommend Rick for the job. He's a total pro and his work is incredible!
