More wrestling figures for sure. Rabid fan base and an untapped market. We listed some great candidates a few pages back.

The only classic boxer I would buy is Ali. Tyson and ali is it for me. There are plenty who diasagree.

I think baseball and football are another untapped market. Not my cup of tea but again, another untapped market. As for nba the legends list that I think would be successful is huge. I'm sure there's a list somewhere around here.

Finally, Star Trek is is desperate need of good high end figures. HT basically said they'll never do them. The best trek figures are from playmates and look and are cheap by today's standards. Trek has a massive, rabid base. They market everything from posters to key chains. The fact that they're no quality 1/6 fits in this day and age is a sin. And frankly I think it's someone who doesn't know about 1/6 or still thinks it's kid thing.

My two (or three) cents.

Thanks dude. Noted your thoughts. Ive went back through the entire threads for this and Tyson and jotted down as much info as I could. Will be checking these two on a daily basis. Hopefully will have enough content to chat about next week.

Keep em coming guys. Make some noise!!!

Happy New Years every Hulk and Wrestling fans.

Just got in touch with Storm CEO and he invited me to chat with him next week. I'm so looking forward to seeing him and just laugh about everything and anything.

Anyhows, before then he would really like to hear about everything that you guys have. Opinions and comments. Good and bad, the lot. Any information is always useful no matter what. Last time I asked in here, many of you guys have already voiced out some good and valid points and I still remember them too.
This time though, I'll be sure to pass them all to him face to face. I'll be bringing my pen and paper to jot down any comments from him and will let you guys know as well. This goes the same for the Tyson figure.

He really appreciates this and hopefully he can express all of this through their products. So for now, I'll let you guys back to drinking and we shall chat again once you all sober. hahaha take it easy everyone.
Classic Hogan looks (AWA, WWF), and any other classic wrestlers are what I am most interested in. Keeping in mind people are into Hogan, and Tyson for that matter, b/c of their '80s nostalgia, going after other '80s athletes and actors could also be a good idea. Mr. T, Roddy Piper, Macho Man, Chuck Norris, Carl Weathers, Jesse Ventura, Bruce Campbell, Charles Bronson, Wayne Gretsky, Bo Jackson, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Charles Barkley, Dr. J, Isaiah Thomas, Karl Malone and John Stockton (who Enterbay will never get around to I reckon). Then maybe other '90s guys like Van Damme (who has been allowing his likeness for figures recently) and Steven Seagal. Presumably any of these could be licensed without having to get specific film, sport, or TV show rights, in looks that are pretty similar to those they are known for in pop culture lore.

Since you're soliciting opinions, music is another glaring vacancy. Jagger and Richards, daltry and Townsend, Morrison, Roth and Eddie van Halen, Bruce Springsteen, axel and slash. I know more than one guy who'd buy a Bruce Dickinson in a heartbeat. I'd love a 1970 James brown.

Wow, thanks for your thoughts.

I think I have a good idea where you going with this. Perhaps I should make it easier for them to understand.
I should really ask them where is it they wish to take the company? What kind of genre or era they want their products to be asscoiated with?
If they have a few ideas or plans they could share, then that could help narrow their projects or commitments as well.
Like you said, if they will stick with 80's route, or broaden their work to include 90's even.

TV celebs, Movies, Sports, etc. That would be alot to take and most if not all companies must had these to consider when starting up.

Thanks again

Thanks ali,

This again is about genre and era as well, just as I mentioned in my last post. I could add this as a general question after Hulk and Tyson. Whether they provide any feedback is a different story. lol

Guys, what would you like to see as extras in this Hulk figure. If they do make an 80's prime Hulk, what should be included?
I believe this would help them alot during the process.

Championship belt, multiple hulkamania shirts, maybe a sculpt with a headband. Maybe a bd, sweaty head. Gold crucifix. But the belt is key. Or some belt.

Wow, awesome. Here's my comments:

On Hogan:

Would love an 80's/early 90's era Hulk or an NWO Hulk (would buy both). I don't think the interest in a modern Hulk would be as strong so I hope they don't go that route. I would not buy a modern version of Hulk.

Also, I hope they make other 1/6 wrestlers. There's definitely a market out there for them. I think Bret Hart would be someone to reach out to as he has his own product line independent of the WWE. Would love to see the Legion of Doom and Ric Flair as well, with the robe and shoulder pads visually they would be really appealing to alot of collectors.

Wrestling fans are quite rabid and would eat these figures up if marketed correctly.

On Tyson:

The figure is perfect, I just hope ordering him will be easy. I was so frustrated the last time I tried to order something from them. You had to email them to preorder and I never received a response, went to the facebook page and many people were complaining about this. Judging by the website it looks like they have a more professional ordering system now but the scars remain from my first experience with them.

Hey tbay,
Thanks for the comments on these two figures. Will def bring them all up in front of them.
I agree about the Hogan figure, looks like everyone wants the 80's ver no matter what. lol
Its good to share your past experience as well, it seems they noticed their errors and try to go with an updated webstore ordering system. Lets hope this makes a big improvement. Although fairly new, I can still forsee issues with customer service or any communications channel. Their English isnt at that level as of now. However, will def let them know this so they can improve better relations with customers.

Hopefully they will listen and make improvements. Thanks again dude.

Agreed about the rabid wrestling collectors.

I just can't believe no 1/6 company has tried to do a wrestling line, it just blows my mind. Wrestling figures are consistently one of the highest selling figure lines out there. Wrestling fans are willing to spend thousands and quality wrestling belt replicas. This definitely is a great market to tap into, more so than boxing or "legitimate sports" since action figures are a huge part of the nostalgic element of wrestling fandom (the overwhelming majority of wrestling fans had wrestling dolls as a kid since the product was marketed to kids, other sports fans didn't they just played the game or watched it). Just look at the success of the various WWE legends action figure lines.

Would love Joe Montana! I agree about the 80's nostalgia. There's also a lot of non action icons from the 80's that people would love like Ferris Bueller.

Great suggestions! A good alternate outfit (in addition to the iconic red and yellow ring outfit) would be the blue and white "american made" look. A headband sculpt would be a must for me. I would like an in ring sweaty head as well. Would love it if they did two bandana style sculpts so you could have two versions of hulk. One from the late 80s and one from the early 90's. It would work pretty well since he has the same body throughout the years:

I can't wait to hear what he has to say about our comments, this is very exciting! Thanks for doing this!

Happy New Year! Kudos on the meet, it sounds exciting! I'd just like the CEO to know that Storm is on the right track and that the vast majority of us care about these characters, personalities, etc. IN THEIR PRIMES! :lol

What they looked like, how they dressed, so that means era-appropriate outfits and accessories, etc. As far as Hogan goes, I'd like a Hogan from the mid- to late-80s, the height of Hulkamania.

Thanks for asking, can't wait to hear how it turns out!

Yeah agree me too. With all these feedback for both the figures, I dont think just one session with Storm will be enough. Dont worry, I'll be sure to be in their face and be frank and honest about everything.

I can easily answer the first part. Answer is CULTURE. Most if not majority of 1/6 companies are from Asia, HK or Korea for example. I know that HK people arent really brought up on wrestling. Even boxing isnt widely known. Maybe perhaps a few big shots and even then, not everyone knows who Tyson is over here.

I kid you not. Thats how it is. Sports over here are mainly football and horse racing and recently over the few years Basketball. Some may take interests in the Olympics or Macau car/bike racing, but other than that nothing else. Maybe some MMA on this far side of the world.

I was born in UK so I had some aspects of understanding wrestling and boxing, so Tyson to me was memorable and when I heard a local company doing this, I was very surprised too. I spoke to them and they were surprised to hear my interests, compared with the locals. even the scalpers didnt want to stock many of these as they think there isnt a market for it locally, which is kind of true. Over here, if its not iron man or basketball figures, the rest are kind of luke warm stuff.

Hence they took an interest in me and what I had to say. I explained I could gather more input for them and they were happy to listen. Im not asking for anything in return, maybe a cup of Starbucks would be nice. lol

So hence I wanted to ask you guys, the experts instead. haha Im just a messenger that like anyone wants great figures. I have a certain amount of info now and know how to express them all to them, so hopefully they will follow up on them.

Happy New Years to you bro. The CEO sounded geniune at the show, not someone up his own butt. Lets hope that doesnt change after he makes a ton of money from this. Lol

Seems like we are ALL on the same page. PRIME is the essential word. Authenticity as well.

Agree with everything here ....especially Malone.
Would love to see a young headsculpt with 80s Jazz uniform and a 2000 era Jazz uniform and old headsculpt !
I think you could probably shift 1000+ units in a week in Utah where he is still worshipped :D

Would also add -
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Young headsculpt and Game of Death outfit
Old headsculpt with goggles and Lakers outfit
.....bring in the NBA and Bruce Lee fans at the same. It'd be an instant seller.
