Thats what seems to be the case. Its confusing me as well.
Extended Blu-ray in stores today has both extended and theatrical editions. See the print on the bottom of the cover.

No version is rated R as far as I know. All editions are PG-13. There is the DVD and Blu-ray editions that contain only the theatrical movie. The extended Blu-ray edition which contains both extended and theatrical versions. Then there is the steelbook version which says, "Theatrical Extended Cut" next to it. I didn't see much more about what that means. If it is both versions in it or just the extended version. I guess I'll find out when Amazon.ca ships it.
I am also really happy I happened to check the GG site. I had kind of lost hope in a Rocket statue but I saw it was on there the other day. Though I am going to have to wait until next year to get it.

To anyone that picks up the extended edition blu ray. If you have a chance can you give a brief description of the footage that was added? I really wanted to like this movie, but I just couldn't. Not sure if any amount of additional footage can fix that.....
XXX nudity was added in the Extended Cut.
My copy of Sucker Punch EC on Blu-ray is out for delivery, I'll have it soon!

My mistake. The extended version is stated as rated R. Mostly for longer battle scenes from what it looks like. There is a bit more with Emily and a cut music number but that is what was in the extra 18 minutes.
Honestly, if you didn't like the movie before I don't see the extended version changing too many minds.
I enjoyed the additional footage and recommend the blu-ray edition over the theatrical if you have a blu-ray player.

I hear there is a threshold in which killing X amount of "things" pushes you into the next rating. I believe it is the extended orc battle and the scene with Babydoll and the High Roller that was cut that pushed the extended edition into R-rating territory.
