You don't get it, I think.

Think again. I don't think you get it.

I understand what these are. I own the Alien.

What I'm saying is they are defeating their own point by making Nightmare B4 Christmas or other such figures.

I remember and owned the actual Nightmare B4 Christmas figures, they didn't look vintage like the Alien figures. They weren't that Kenner generation type of toy. Funko are just making any dumb license they have to churn out as many characters as they can and make money instead of taking the time to do what makes sense and making them look good. Like Ghostbusters, they have that license that would actually make sense for this style. Firefly came out in 2002. What about that warrants vintage style figures?

We discussed it alot more in the Terminator thread for these, but theres alot wrong with them, inlcuding a huge lack of detail when you compare them to the Alien figures. Go look at the amount of detail in Kane's spacesuit. That was actually done in the 80s. If they had put things like Buffy and Firely in this format that don't make sense on hold and focused on making these current figures look more convincing to what they are they'd be alot more well-recieved.

The fun is making new stuff to look like old stuff. :)

Not everyone will love these, just as not everyone goes for their POP vinyls, but the Alien figures showed there IS a market for them. I'm all in. The 5POA and styling (and packaging!) is fun. I love the Rocketeer one. They put a lot of care into matching the styles. The proportions look a bit off because of the angle of these, but I'm assured they will look great next to vintage Kenner figures like Star Wars.

Again, not for everyone... but they have their place, and part of the fun will be the sheer variety of licenses they get.

I mentioned in the terminator thread, but the comparison picture has just really emphasised to me how little clothing texture there is on the funko stuff compared to
the Star Wars figs. The Han Solo has creases in the sleeves, wrinkles on the shirt and some decent texture on the jacket. The terminator opposite is just smooth like chunks if playdoh stuck together. I think if they fix this they'll look a lot better

I'll wait to comment on the figure when final product is shown. ( this may be one of the rare times, final looks better than the protos. Ive never seen such bad painting on a proto like this.)

But the few cards that have been show, I love the cards, A LOT. Hope The Terminator gets idividual character cards.

Individual character cards are a must. I have my Alien figures on display still on the cards and the character screen shots really make the display.

Should have put the Alien creature as the comparison for the Predator. I know its ment to show the new vs. the old but that Predator is seriously lacking. Comparing the two shows just how much.
