If ss gets the face right this will sell more than triple the amount it would if it is left the same. I would say it's easiest and best to give us all a COH like superman and power girl which had the same issue with the face and now people love it. Those yamato generic faces are so pretty. They are like big bishoujo style mixed with American art. One of those would be perfect for supergirl as the yamato Wonder Woman is so pretty looking.

Yea the hand definitely reads as a salute...no debate on that. I think they should have relaxed her hand if she was just trying to block the sun but that would have looked pretty dumb. I think the head sculpt is well done but just doesn't fit her character. They might have just gone too realistic looking. I would love to see Mark's rendition because he does realistic but with a little style added.

That is it in a nutshell, the tightness of the fingers and the position reads as a salute, although I can see it both ways.

I really hope SS takes some of the feedback. Im sure they will just try to tweak the hand but I wish they would just revisit the whole piece. I was thinking a punching hand like she busting through the clowds but then I took time to look at the base and was like wtf. Rocks. She is in a kind of floating airy pose. They should use some of that spiderman popcorn and make it clouds.

Then I took time to look at the other arm and while it's fine I cant say I like that back hand. Looks like she is about to grab her own ...

Anyway, if they insist on keeping the sculpt I think they should redo both arms and hands to get it right and keep the flow. If they only do one arm it could affect something else

I think the rocks look like asteroids, I am picturing her in space.

If the hand were turned more outward I think it would give more of an impression of a hi or seeya or blocking out the sun.

This is probably what they will do. With the palm facing outword it would remove the idea that it is supposed to be a salute. Or it will look like a Nazi salute....Of course they could turn it the other way and go for a Homer head slap.

Personally I think a Change out Arm is reallth the way to go. Looks like there is a seam for it anyway.

I really like this head, but am never against having a second portrait.

CoH is definitely one of the best possible additions to a release. Just don't need to overdo it like we see it from time to time. It needs to fit the expression of the piece, and having 3 different heads for the same body... it's sometimes unlikely that all three heads will fit it equally.

So I just saw Flashpoint Paradox and after Bruce gets the letter, Flash gives a see ya salute with his left hand. Still don't understand why people are so bothered by that. It definitely looked like a see ya later hand gesture. I do it all the time with my left hand. Just did it 30 minutes ago when someone asked me for directions.

Just a small tidbit, I was talking to a higher up at SDCC who said that the current head is being retweeked already (especially the hair), so having a COH might not even be planned until this first one is altered.

If this is true then that's a smart move on their part. As I said earlier, this hasn't even been teased for a release date on any level, so it could have been planned for a PO in September, only to now have it show up in December and we wouldn't know the difference. Taking that opportunity to fix the headsculpt -- even if it delays the PO until early 2016 (which probably isn't likely, but I'm talking extremes) would still make sense in the long run.

Everything looks great sans the head, so if they tweak that properly, I think they'll have a lot of happy customers who are willing to jump on board and pick her up! I mean, there's the whole salute/arm thing, and it'd be great if they changed that too, or had a swap out arm, but I think more people could live with it if the headsculpt was stronger.
